Having been with vodafone for 9 years on a contract and about another 6 on payg, last year I didn't get a new phone as they offered to reduce my monthly cost to just 15pm and increase the benefits that I held if I kept the same phone. They approached me with this offer - no haggling, etc.
I dont use the phone that much and to be honest don't use anywhere near the calls/text included in the bundle. After 2.5 years and several droppings, my phone has seen better days and I need a new one.
During the year I received a call asking if I had anyone in the family who would be interested in switching to vodafone. My husband at the time was with O2 and called them back and got a good deal at £45pm as I had a contract with them. He works away from home and uses his phone continually for calls and internet.
Last month, I checked the internet and decided to upgrade my phone to the HTC and increase my bundle by adding internet connection at an additional £5pm. Spoke to someone online who said could arrange but as it was just after christmas decided to wait until this payday to do.
Just tried to do it and been told sorry policy changed. You cannot just upgrade and get a new phone - now have to take out a new plan too on a much increased cost - ie £15 a month !
How can things change in a matter of about 14 days ??
Online advisor basically said sorry cannot help you and will get someone to call you to get your PAC code.
Seems like loyalty helped them get a new contract and now its goodbye as you don't spend enough with us.
Loyalty obviously no longer accounts for anything with vodafone. Looks like im off to find someone who wants my loyalty for the next 10+ years !

There are only two things a child will share willingly - communicable diseases and their mother's real age
