bank charges-what to do Abbey

I sent request for repayment of charges to the Abbey on 7.11.06 and received a `no chance` reply on 8.11.06. Following this a letter b4 action was sent out on 11.11.06 Ive received a reply today to state letter has been forwarded to the complaints department in Milton Keynes and under the FSA guidelines they have 8 weeks to reply. However, the letter before action stated that they need to reply in 14 days. Do I have to wait for another 8 weeks?

Many thanks-robbed

you say you asked for a repayment of charges and they replied a day later, it seems an awfully quick response.
  • Sent a letter before action to Abbey on 11.11.06 asking them to respond to me in 14 days, I have received a letter today to state they`ve forwarded my complaint to Milton Keynes and that under FSA guidelines they have 8 weeks to reply not 2. Should I wait another 8 weeks?

    Any advice much appreciated

Go by your own timescales. Fill in the MCOL after 14 days but make sure you now claim the 8% interest. Yummy............

    Hi
Don't take any notice of them, give then the 2 weeks that you said on the letter before action, then start the Court claim.
    Good luck!
