Samsung Galaxy S went for a splash
Options
Hi. I dropped my phone in a pan of water yesterday. It was in for about 1.5 seconds. I took the battery out and sim card, dried with a towel and hairdryer, then put the bits in a tub of rice and kept it warm over night. I put it back together about an hour ago, turned it on and it came on fine.
Then a blue box popped up saying
''sorry process system is not responding'' Also the touch screen isn't working. The home and 2 bottom buttons work fine.
Has this happened to anyone else? Apart from the clock and date resetting, The home screen looks like it did before it went for a swim, except I cant swipe the screen to unlock......
I tried phoning it as well to see what happens. The blue box pops up again saying the same thing.
All help will be appreciated!!!:o

Hey thanks. I would do but as I said, I'm stuck on the home screen so cant access anything on the phone.0

Remove battery replace and hold down power on button to see if it will factory reset from that .
That fails can you get to recovery mode or download mode .

Hi. I managed to reboot it from the link you sent but the screen still doesn't respond when touching it. Could the water have damaged a link in the phone that enables the touch screen to work?
The ''sorry process system is not responding'' box doesn't come up any more so the phone seems fine except I can't get the screen to unlock!:mad:0 -
Choice is one Samsung Service centre .
two is to try flashing new firmware in the hope that that will cure the problem .

Still no luck, will take it to a mobile phone repairers in town tomorrow to see if they can fix it. Thanks for your advice and help though0

I got my phone back today, 5 days after i took it in to the reapir shop.
The touch screen has been fixed and everything works as it should EXCEPT I barely get any signal at all now.
The repairer said the simcard holder had corroded so much it wont recognise a sim card. Cant make calls or text. So basically he said its like an ipod touch now.
I left the shop, popped in my sim card and lo and behold I have signal although its not even 'G'. Just 1-4 bars with the r above it. I can text and make calls but cannot connect to the internet unless I allow data roaming. I then get a 'G' but no 3G or the H. WiFi works fine.
He also said It's unrepairable.
Anyone have an idea what could be wrong or if it is repairable?
Also, if i allow data roaming, will this cost loads when on the net?
Thanks for reading:D0 -
It sounds like you are roaming on another network, are you on Orange or TMobile ?0

Yes I'm on t mobile and I recently registered to go on both networks. Data roaming is unclicked though on settings.0
