133 meter units x 31.6 is 4202 kWh
4202 kWh at 4 pence per kWh is £168 (4202 x 0.04)
I'm not sure what your question is. You do seem to follow the calculations. Are you asking why the coldest winter for thirty years will result in an increase in the cost of heating?!?
Were the previous months estimated? If your average monthly payment is £65 then £168 is perfectly reasonable for a single winter month.0 -
september/oct/jans bills were all similar £70/£80 with one being £127.10 november and decembers £154.94 - all our bills are for both elec and gas - we had the coldest winter but to be honest the last two aren't that too high but it's this one is really high. I'm assuming that with the price increase. the 3% in gas would it have increased the kwh of units by 3 times.
Is there a way to work out what the price of the bill would have been before the price increase at the same units i've used.
no the other bills are always accurate readings0 -
Hi nadmaj,
Sorry for the late reply, we have been out of the office
Already some good info on here :T
From the info on here it does sound like the bill is correct, so it is a case of usage/tariff change.
I think the best place to start would be E.ON's consumption department, they can go through your usage with you and also help you understand the calculations.
The change of tariff will make a difference, so also check what prices you are on now and make sure this is the best for you.
You can also pop your usage in to a comparison site to give you a picture of the market as a whole.
Just shout up if I can offer any more info nadmaj.
