New Claim on Several Accounts (Student)

Hi everyone,
A little help or reassurance would be nice.
I have several student bank accounts and credit cards and know that there are lots of charges that i can claim back. If i were successfull in my claim, what would happen, would they just debit my accounts with the claim charges, or would i recieve a cheque?
Also, how many people are having to get their account closed to get their charges back?
Is their anyway i can get a default notice on my credit file removed because of the snowballing effect?
I am going to be claiming against Natwest, Barclays, Barclaycard and Natwest Credit Card.
Also, what if i cannot afford the £10 per account for my information. I have all my statements but they are not complete (missing the odd month, say ten out of 12 a year). Is there anyway i can tell them to just give me the info?
Thanks in advance.

My honest advice is to take on one at a time. HSBC tend to settle very quickly and without too much greif if you do everything right. Once you have reclaimed all from one bank move onto the next. There is some thing on the CAG website regarding defaults, I would leave that account until later, when you are a little more confident with the system.Debt £5600 all 0%0

Oh yeah i forgot to mention, when I sent my cheque for £10 with the letter, all the banks I took on sent it back, but I would make sure that you send one with cleared funds just to be on the safe side.Debt £5600 all 0%0

HSBC returned our £10 note. Currently in the process of claiming so can't tell you whether successful or how easy yet! (But HSBC replied with all statements v quickly.) Good luck...

im not claiming against HSBC lol. It is Barclays, Natwest, Barclaycard, and Natwest Credit Card. I will be claiming others but wanting to get these "biggeys" out the way first. Has anyone delt with a law firm when it comes to claiming. I have just seen a no-win no-fee claim service. Any advice would be good.0

braken2000, you need to be aware that court fees will be payable when you file a claim. You will get them back, so justruth's advice about taking one at a time should help you to afford these when you get your money from the first.
There is no need to involve lawyers in the vast majority of cases, do not get involved with 'no win no fee'. If you read the instructions carefully, you can do it all yourself.0 -
i will avoid the laywers then. Unless it gets messy in my case it probabaly will. Im just worried incase they close my a/c because i cannot get a parachute a/c open. Student o/d an all.0

braken2000, only you can assess that risk. It's recommended that you open a parachute account because banks do sometimes close accounts.
If you follow the instructions to the letter, there's virtually no chance of it getting messy!
You need to be prepared to go through with it though, otherwise you are wasting your own time and effort, it's not a game.0 -
I know it is not a game. I just want what is mine (like everyone else). Im just, as we speak, collating all my charges from my statements, which are all there! I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks For Your Help0 -
I thought, you could only have one student bank account.braken2000 wrote:I have several student bank accounts and credit cards0 -
you can have as many as you want, but it is "frowned upon"0
