linked financially how?

Many years ago when my hubby applied for the mortgage, there was a question about his record because of the address - he lived in one flat and the query was another flat! It was not an issue. Fast forward to now, my 22 year old daughter (different surname due to divorce and remarriage) has an appalling record, but when I applied for a store card last week, it was fine - and I have not suffered adversely due to her poor ability to pay her debts!0

I had exactly the same problem - Santander decided that because me and OH both live at the same address and have accounts with them (totally separate, definitely not joint, mine had been up and running about 6 months before he opened his) we were financially linked!!
I filed a notice of disassociation to him - we were only linked on Experian for some reason so I got in touch with Experian and they filed the notice for me. I've had to move my current account away from Santander as his account is in a terrible state and they couldnt put my mind at rest that they wouldnt take money from my account to settle his. They said they're not legally allowed and that would be theft as we arent married and have no joint accounts but if they can create a link that doesnt exist who knows what else they can do???*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
I was refused credit as I was linked to my stepdad who lived at the same address (no joint finances/links with him!)
I contacted Experian and asked to remove him from my file. They did but advised that any searches made while linked to him would remain on my file for 12 months0
