i think i understand this, just want confirmation, thanks
Orange contract - end of tie-in/renewal date was 15.01.11
i requested PAC 06.01.11
port to T-Mobile completed 17.01.11
our billing date was 12th, the bill i received dated 12.01.11 had advance charges to 11.02.11. i rang Orange upon receipt of this bill, advised i was cancelling the DD as i didn't want to pay this bill & then have to wait for a refund after the final bill had been issued. i was advised this was ok to do.
i've now got our final bill dated 12.02.11. credit has been applied for the period 18.01.11 to 11.02.11 of £40.79, but there's £27.23 charges been added in respect of 'port out termination : 16 Jan'.
so, in effect, i've been charged line rental for the period to 06.02.11 as that is 30 days from when i requested the PAC - have i understood this correctly?

Sounds right, you have to give 30 days notice. Using the pac within 30 days don't change that they'll still bill you.0
