OK then. Everything will be fine, there can't possibly be any problems with getting insurance for any eye issues, nothing else will appear as a result of the breeder screwing up on the genetic health of the creature and every other animal they produce will never have a single problem.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I think you will find thats its only the eye issue that wont be insured, and anything that can be related to the cherry eye - the dog may develop dry eye later in life

Cherry eye is a common problem in pups, any pup can develop it, same as any child can be born with a hernia.

Get a fully vet check before you buy the puppy. Get a quote for any treatment and consider asking the breeder for at least a contribution. Good luck.

Now you're just being ridiculous. The OP is right to question the potential cost of this condition but telling them the dog is unsinsurable is way over the top.

Any breeder can have a health condition slip through, it doesn't mean they screwed up. We can't and don't test for every single genetic condition there is, and if the breeder hasn't had this happen before then how would they know? I just think you're being very harsh bearing in mind that we don't know very much about this breeder.

You may be right, but on the other hand you may also be wrong. The OP needs to research thoroughly before making a decision and as far as I can see, that is what they're doing.
