  • Thank you for the advise!

I think the whole sign up to lots, is a good idea and like a few of you have said it's great that it fits into your life whatever you do. =]

I'm still going to give it a go join up to lots of sites see how it goes and if it works for me. Nice to hear a few people are keen on them. :)

    Thanks for the replies! :D

  • @flip flop 29 I have filled out all the screening questions available so far and completed a few surveys so i think you might be better off, the questions are not THAT detailed so I dont think it will take you away from that many surveys!

if your more interested in making money than winning prizes etc... £40 - £60 for 2 hour focus group meeting, worth signing up to anyway! Looking for more focus groups to join if anyone has tips! Thanks!
 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!

Thanks - I'll leave the panelopinion profile stuff empty for a few weeks - if I get surveys I'll leave it, if not I'll fill them in and see what happens!

Paidfocusgroup looks great - I didn't know there were focus group only sites. To the OP - that's another reason for doing surveys - some of them turn out to be screeners for focus groups which pay better and are more interesting.
  • I think the problem is that everyone who starts surveys thinks it's an easy way to earn a lot, it's not. It's one of many ways to build up extra income, lots of little trickles add up in the end...

Thing is with focus groups is that if you live outside London you will hardly get any calls.

Im pretty sure there are focus groups outside London, though you may be asked to join more in London, i do agree... Either way it could be worth joining... only way to know I guess, and if its free to sign up i guess you dont loose anything!

Just a quick warning in case, like me, you haven't noticed - You Gov is taking 50 points away from my total each time to "pay" for entry into a prize draw survey.
I've just done a survey and this pops up when the survey is finished- an invitation to do another survey for entry into a prize draw - I did it and when I checked my points total they've taken away 50 points - this is the second time I've fallen for this!
It takes a couple of years to get enough to cash out anyway, without this happening!
Have I missed something where they told us about this?
  • I've been doing a few survey sites since the beginning of the year, the only one I've found any good so far is Valued Opinions. It has a low payout threshold (£10 though is vouchers not money), I get sent a survey most days, and 1 in every 2 I probably qualify for. It only takes about a minute for it to decide whether you qualify. They tell you how much you will get up front, and how long it will take, and if anything they over-estimate the time it will take, which is the only survey site I know that I can say that for - most take way longer than they suggest.

I think with survey sites, the frequency of getting surveys and how often you qualify will vary from person to person. I think I get quite a lot on this one because I'm a young-ish man in a professional job which they seem to be short of. My wife has signed up too, and she qualifies for a few less than me, although I think she's still finding it good too.

Yeah, I've notice this too - luckily I didn't fall for it. I have to say this is quite a cynical trick and I'm surprised that a company like yougov would do that.

    Hi Little Miss,

I know what you mean about being on sites for ages without being able to actually get the cash you have been 'earning'!!! I seen a recommendation online for panelopinion and I have loved it ever since....
    http://www.panelopinion.co.uk/

Basically the surveys are really short, I get sent a few each week, you know how much the survey is worth before you complete it, and the best bit is that you can 'cash out' at £10 and then they send you a cheque whatever you have earned. So I definitely think its possible to earn something every month, ever thought about doing 'focus groups'? much better pay than surveys... Enjoy!

Thanks for this, I have used the link to sign up so hope it's a good one. Like many people have said, I think the best thing with surveys is to sign up to a variety with different payout levels and methods of payout. It isn't a quick way of earning money but if you persevere I find that I get a payout from a least one site most months. Combined with cashback sites I have earned over £200 in the last year just doing them while watching sport on tv or listening to the radio. The money from these - I always get cash if possible - just helped me pay for my new boiler so I definitely think it's worth it. Next stop new windows!!:)
