carbon monoxide alarm

what are the building regs re carbon monoxide detectors and any reccomendations for which model for use with woodburning/solid fuel stoves, thanks

    anybody? seems to be confusion in my local shop whether it is sealed 7yr life or the ones that you can change batteries
