Wentworth Direct Finance - Sorry yet another victim with a disabled child

Hi Everyone,
I know there is been a lot said about Wentworth, mainly because of the admin fee £59.00 debited without consent, however, with me, I agreed to it in advance because I had been told my "Loan had been Agreed" and quite frankly I am DESPERATE, I need a car loan, I have bad credit, and I look after my disabled child, my current car is clapped out and failed its MOT.
I cannot survive without a car as I need it for my child, (I am disabled myself) but do not qualify for the Mobility Scheme as I have mental health issues not a physical disability.
Well I googled them, before handing over my £59 and saw loads of horror stories but also saw that some people had been successful in getting their loans..... but now think it is a scam
However, I want to know has anyone ever received a loan from their service? I made a note of the time and day and the person's name and what they said and I quote "Your Loan Has Been Agreed". Now, if I dont get it, I dont know what I will do.... as I am quite desperate.
Does anyone know anyone who got a loan from these people using them has a brokerage?
Thanks for reading/replying.

I am somewhat astonished that you Googled "Wentworth" and still went ahead with the application though.0 -
Hi Enfieldian,
Thanks for replying but:
I wish you had properly read my post, I realise that people have issues with the £59 fee being debited without consent.
However, I was told up front that this would be the case, the £59 would be debited, but I would get my loan "as it had been agreed" my question is has anyone been successful in obtaining a loan via their services? Or is this just a new of scamming people?
Please re-read my post.
Thank you.0 -
I have read it, and hundreds more like it, so no thanks.
You will not be getting a loan any time soon.
You MAY get offered a PayDay loan for a few quid or a loan that requires a guarantor but comes with an extremely high interest rate, 40 to 50% APR or more, via a 3rd party. This will allow Wentworth to say "We have introduced you to a lender, therefore we are entitled to keep our fee"
Instead of clutching at straws on an internet forum I suggest that you make a start on your WRITTEN refund request. As suggested in the thread I linked to.
Good luck.0 -
I'm afraid Enfieldian is right, you wont get a decent loan from Wentworth I was conned by them and they took money out of my account with out my consent, they told me they wanted my card number to verify I was from the UK, I did recieve one loan application from a company they found for me but this company wanted a home owner gaurentor (sp) before they would even consider me, you also need to be very careful as they sometimes take more money out of your account if you send off application forms, I had to change my card because of this.
I didnt read up about them before applying to them or I would never have done it and I truly hope everyone who considers them reads about them first and I cant for the life of me understand how they are still allowed to operate, they are true loan sharks and should be closed down.
I really hope you get what you need for your disabled child but you wont be getting it from that bunch of robbing so and so's, oh and they also told me I had been accepted for a loan when they rang me, even quoted me the repayment price, but again its just another ploy to rob you of your money.0 -
Never, ever, pay an upfront fee for a loan. No decent lender or broker will ask for one.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

iolanthe07 is absolutely right, there are lots of brokers out there charging upfront fees for secured loan applications and they are all ripping you off.
Lenders have to assess you for a loan and take in to account your income and other debts, they cannot do this via a credit score alone. All as a lender can do is give an acceptance in principle so there is no way you will be guaranteed a loan on the basis of one phone call.
There are loan brokers who can arrange a loan without charging a fee, you should talk to one of them.0 -
if your daughter is disabled, doesnt she get the higher rate dla to use on a car?0

Thank you all - I wish i had read what you had posted before I got stung by Wentworth. (How come i had to pay a £69 fee? )
I am about to write my WRITTEN refund fee to WENTWORTH after receiving my application, for the £1000 i asked for, from a broker Ralph Marlon Ltd, who say I can have the money BUT after looking them up online, they want me to pay it back with a typical 91.1% APR -
So, i may not be very good at maths but that would be @£1910 i would have to pay back then.
Deal of the week, don't yah think? (NOT)
