If you want something central I would recommend staying on Holgate Road . It's quite a busy road but you can't hear the noise once inside the B & B .
Prices can vary like this from £30 a night

To this from £89 a night

Thank you, I will have a look at them.0

Thats £30 a night each, still not bad for the centre of York,
Theres a travelodge with a weatherspoons attached, but Saturday nights are usually expensive.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Sorry to highjack this thread but I am thinking of going york aswell.
Do you know if the Queens hotel or Hotel 53 are in good areas for walking and sightseeing.0 -
lots of bed and breakfasts on scarcroft road and surrounding area, an easy walk into town from there. york is never particularly cheap as we get tourists all year round'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Hotel 53, is near the centre, opposite travelodge and weatherspoons.
Im staying there next week, the reviews are very good, and I had a look on google street view and its in a good location.0 -

Yep, it's ok, but it is a travelodge and is quite worn now.
If you can run to around £70 per night I'd recommend Premier Inn Blossom Street South, which is near the station. Pretty much ideal.0 -
Lots of B&Bs on Fulford Road which is about 30 minutes' walk to town.
My sister has stayed here: http://www.royalhotelyork.co.uk/ which is right next to the train station and said it was really nice but may be a bit out of your price range..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
