We have always taken out annual medical insurance with Tesco but this year they won't cover any heart problems my husband may have since he had a heart bypass 8 years ago. I have tried other suppliers but am meeting the same problem. Dos anyone know who will provide this cover?

Travel Insurance or medical Insurance ?
If Travel Insurance, try companies that are more helpful with existing meds. e.g Medici Travel, Allcleartravel, World First Travel Insurance, Essential Travel, AgeUK, SAGA,The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Try Halifax. You'll need to do it over the phone. I suspect that your days of annual policies may also be over.My farts hospitalize small children0 -

I've spent two days being turned down everywhere including most of the above whilst trying to find insurance for my Mum.
I've just succeeded through EHC Plus! A single trip for £33. It only asked for conditions within the last five years.
Although I declared her bladder cancer (one tiny tumour, surgically removed, end of story) the premium only rose from £16 to £33.
Good luck0 -

I hope you don't mind my adding to this thread with a similar question, but slightly different in that it concerns someone in their early twenties. My son has recently been diagnosed with an inflammatory bowel condition and needs to organise travel insurance for a week's holiday in Europe. If anyone has any additional information or advice about where he could try for travel insurance it would give him a really useful starting point.
Many thanks,

Unlikely he would need to approach 'specialist' pre-existing medical conditions type Insurers for his condition.
But he will need to phone companies to obtain quotes and arrange cover, as he will need to go through a medical questionnaire about the condition he is suffering from. He should make sure the condition and anything related is covered, paying the relevant extra premium required.
If you look through the answers to this thread, numerous companies are mentioned that he might try (excluding Ageuk or SAGA). He could also try the Post Office Travel Insurance by phoning their helpline 0800 294 2292 and not in the local post office. Their policy is underwritten by Ageas (nee Fortis) who have a good reputation. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums.
