    Hello again!:D

Well today I have finished cleaning out of much as I can for now unfortunately.
Whilst having my spring clean, I found an old keyboard which I'm never going to use, I don't have enough things for a car boot so called cash converters, they said it could be worth £50 to £60 not bad!:D
Sold a book on Amazon should make about a £7 profit. :T

Made about 2.50 on surveys today, although joined a couple more.

I'm not really sure what to do now to be honest I don't want to spend the rest of the night on the computer, so I might look into starting a cross stitch for mothers day. :)

Not sure weather to continue this as I have no useful tips to be quite honest.

Hope everyone is saving those pennies! :D

Oh dear what a day! I've had one of those day's where I feel like I have achieved nothing!

Sent the majority of the day searching for new homes and looking at all my saved properties (76 of them:o) on google street view. Although I have a much better idea of the locations, I feel I haven't really achieved much. Just bit of a pain as OH is away in Afghan so there's a limit to what I can do.

Feel like I have wasted my day really! Although I haven't spent anything should look on the bright-side!

No more house looking for me I'm just going to wait for OH to get home now it's not long anyway.

Tomorrow's a new day just have to forget about today. Hope everyone's had a good weekend so far. :)

  • Weekly update:) I have one week till my OH is home from Afghan I am sooo excited now, my organization has all gone to pot! I need to start organizing what I'm doing with my time, I feel like I'm not on track at the moment I think because I'm so excited, but it's still a week though lots I can do in a week really. :)

So yes when he's back I know it's going to be very busy so I think I'm being a bit lazy for now to compensate for this. :D We will be looking for a house soon too eeek! Very exciting times for me at the moment.

Ok so money saving, I'm still continuing with the surveys, I've made almost £10 this month so far so not bad quite happy with that. :)
I've been invited round OH's mum's for tea on Sunday was planning to buy her a bunch of flowers, now thanks to my new money ways I might bake a nice cake which we can have for pudding. Saves spending £7. :o
Or any others ideas let me know. :)
Sold a few bits on ebay made £14 not much but it all adds up. :)

For this week (I'm going to try and organize myself):
    1. Keep completing surveys.
    2. Go to the car boot on Sunday.(Call local one see if they are running)
    3. Make something as a gift for Sunday lunch.
    4. Complete new homework.
    5. Ask about taking Thursday off work.
    6. Add new addresses in book.

    Within next two weeks:
    1. Buy mum's mothers day/christening gift online via cash-back sites.

    Keep going saving those pennies!

Reading others people's money saving thread has motivated me to start up my own again!:D

Gosh I can't belive last time I wrote on here my OH was still away in Afghan, he's been back now for a couple of months and it seems like Afghan was years ago!!!:D We are now on the house hunt! Very exciting although we haven't been very lucky had a house of or dreams fall through, but we are now on the mend and back looking. :)

So today has been ok, I'm teaching later and I really don't want to be! Not out of choice but just as cover but I do get paid more, I was going to go home for a little bit but I thought nope save the petrol. So I've stayed in made a few calls sent a few e-mails more productive than if I went home. :) Although I do keep getting distracted.

Me and OH have been very good lately we have cut down on eating out massively! This has saved us at least £30 a weekend. So thats £120 a month didn't realize it added up to so much.

Went to the car boot yesterday, got a Braun electric toothbrush for 50p!!! Obviously I have got new heads but me and OH searched the net for the cheepist we could get. I'm loving how OH is coming around to the MSE ways!
Also got a nice fat wooden chopping board and hose sprayer thing for the parents for £14 quite a good day for us I love a bargain!

Things to do for this week Money Saving wise:
    1. Start up the survey sites again!
    2. Enquire about part time courses at the college see if I can gain a few more skills.
    3. Update CV.
    4. Start actively looking for new jobs.
    5. Think about things I can do to up my income on a more permanent basis.

    Other:
    1. Complete application form and e-mail back.

    Hey little Miss,

It must be the time of year as i've just hooked up on my thread again!!!

Glad you hear you are still living the MSE way, i've had a little blip (last a couple of months:rotfl:) but i'm putting the disaster recovery strategy in place and dragging myself kicking and screaming back onto the MSE road to financial righteousness!!!:A

Car boots are just fab, i don't often get to them (even though there is one weekly through the summer quite close to us) but i do get my fix of bargain hunting more frequently in the charity shops close to where we live, bought a stunning monsoon top and skirt recently for just a couple of pounds!!

I too have to get back into surveys, have let that slip of late too (what am i like!!)
Well, next month is gonna be tight financially as OH has no overtime at the mo which makes a huge difference, and we're moving house (eek) so i've got heaps of cake orders booked in plus i've got my MSE 'lists' book back out and dusted off, so will have to be really strict with shopping, meal planning etc and we need to save all we can.

Really sorry to hear your 'dream house' fell through, maybe it was meant to be and an even better one is out there waiting for you xx

Hey Trixiepix very exciting about moving house good luck hope it all goes well.:D
Well done for getting back on the MSE way of life! Hope things wearn't too tight last month when your OH didn't have any overtime pay.

In reguards to the house hunt we have found somewhere else which is much better suited to us, it's a lot bigger and we have another bedroom:D I'm very excited well we both are, things are going quite well, the only thing is we need a damp proof course in the whole basement floor. Just puts things back a little especially as we wanted to get all the paper work signed for exchange by Fri. As OH is away for two weeks with the Army and he wont have his phone on him! So again this will slow things down another two weeks. But overall things are going well. :)

I have devised a spreadsheet for the house putting in all the things we need for the house, I have created an estimate target i.e what things would cost in the shops and an actual. The feeling of beating the estimate is an amazing feeling!
Like today I got 4 nice wine glasses for £2.25 at a charity shop!:T

I need to get back into my real life I know it sounds pathetic but this house buying lark is so consuming!

    Better set some goals then:

    Money Saving:
    1. Really need to start doing surveys again! Small goal- Complete 10 surveys a week.
    2. Go to the car boot this week.

    Other:
    1. Complete at least 3 assignments a week.
    2. Run for 30mins four times a week.
    3. Continue with my Home sweet home cross- stitch for new home.:)

I'm back again! My work at the college has almost stopped so I'm really bored!

I have decided I need to focus my energy again, I have updated my signature which I'm hoping will motivate me to save some money. Although I haven't moved in yet I have the mortgage numbers all ready to go! :D

I have lots of work to do for an evening course I'm doing, it's so boring! I have decided to give myself a treat if I complete this before deadline, I'd like to buy something that will help with the money saving really but also something I'd like too as a treat. Any ideas let me know.:)

I think I need to set myself a few goals to get myself back on track! I have made a start. I could edit this when I think of a few more. :T

    Hello again!

I've really started getting back into MSE this site is sooo inspirational! I am now looking forward to becoming MF I'm determined now!!!

New week already! My partner is away for two weeks with the army and I'm really missing him silly really as he's recently been away for six months! I'm sure it will wizz by if I keep busy.:D

Me and OH went to the car boot on Sat, we went somewhere different it was a lot smaller but we got lots of bargains I'm not sure if we were looking harder because of this? Anyway.... we got scales for the bathroom for a pound, although they need some batteries for a pound but OH's not sure if it's going to work, a potential bargain will have to wait for the batteries to turn up. :) we also got a few kitchen bits, veg peeler, stainless steel sieve for £2. OH got a new FCUK wash bag for a pound, a hozlock metal hose sprayer thing with metal connectors for £13:D oh and I spotted another 4 wine glasses which are almost exactly the same as the ones I got from the charity shop:T that was £1 so all in all 8 big wine glasses for £3.25 very happy with that!
Our new home will be full of car booty!

I really need OH to get converted on some things he's great like car boots etc, this week he's upgraded his phone it's costing him £32 a month:eek: I know that's his thing his luxury if you like. I just think that's a hell a lot of money on a phone really. The only thing I managed to do was get him to buy a case though Quidco so small victory.

I'm new to Quidco so hoping to see a few pennies build up though this perhaps!

Although we have lots to spend soon I hope I can still gather some income from other sources i.e surveys to put towards the MF fund.

And I have decided that as a treat to finishing all my assignments for work, I will buy something like a sewing book as i love sewing although I don't really know what I'm doing, and it's something I could make money on someday. I really need to complete a course though.

Whilst I was at work today I did think I'd love to create my own homemade business, sewing things not sure what yet as I can't sew but it could be something to aim for.
I have a degree in Graphics so I should really be using this too! I may start to start to sew a bit more, complete a few tutorials or something, thinking of running my own business makes me very happy, I should work toward this!!!

I'm quite motivated at the moment I love this site I should come on here everyday!:D

Sorry this post is just a bit of an update really.

Things look like they are going to be moving with the house! Hooray! The damp man said the work is going to cost £1440 I thought it could be anything between 2,000 and 3,000. So that's great news. We would ask the vendors to go halves but they have come down so much and left us all the blinds, curtains, appliances and even shed, the man is really stressing out at the moment so I don't think its worth loosing it for £700.
I've started getting things moving hopefully we will exchange in about 5days. Then complete soon after.
I'm really hoping to complete by the time OH gets home next Friday I know it's pushing it a bit. I really want to surprise him.:D

Thats all good, saw an iron on sale at Argos so reserved that today, Phillps was £79 down to £29.99 snapped that up as we need one for the house and OH is so fussy about irons as he needs a decent one for his uniform, also posted an item I sold on Amazon. :D

Dropped some paper work down to the solicitor, whilst I was in the area browsed the charity shops got myself a cake tin every little helps.:)

I'm not sure what to do now, I think I'm too excited to do anything! He he.

Could do with completing my mountains of paperwork, especially as we may be in the house soon!!!:D

    Just a quick update:D

Been quite busy this week, unfortunately I've had to spend a little, what with fathers day and my dads birthday next week. I've been out with my friends a couple of times. It's al about balance you can't stay in all day just to save a bit of money. :o
On the plus I have got an interview for a full time contracted position next Friday, I'm very happy that I have even been shortlisted!:D Although they told me it's going to be an all day interview hmm wonderful.

    This week I have;
    1. Created an amazing spreadsheet to calculate my mortgagee over payments and all that jazz. I did have some help from finical bliss.
    2. I have kept up with my running and have lost a pound this week! I feel so much thinner too.
    3. I have started again on my cross stitch ready to put into the new house. :D
    4. Used quidco to buy a few items on ebay I was going to buy anyway although it's not showing on my account.
    5. Chased up a £25 Amazon voucher I should of received by now.

    1. Next week I really need to get my paperwork all sorted it's getting on my nerves now so I need to get it sorted especially with all the house move being completed soon, be great to get that out of the way! As a treat I may get myself some new clothes that will motivate me.
    2. Check the money goes into my Quidco account.
    3. Continue with cross stitch.
    4. Prepare for interview.
    5. Try to get into surveys again!
