So when FD offered £25.00 incentive to open an account with them , everyone should have said no ?
Oh hilarious......you should be on the stage:rotfl:
People dont say no to free money however like any business FD offer incentives to attract new customers in the hope that they will use their account and also buy additional products and some people do. However, when you have serial incentive chasers that open accounts here, there and everywhere get their incentive and then leave the accounts dormant and not using or closing them then they are certainly partly to blame.
Anyway you'll not be that bothered chairman miaow seeing as you have shut your FD account(mentioned in another thread). Can i laugh though when you come crawling back once all banks etc charge and they dont have the same customer service :rotfl:0 -
Changed to another bankI closed my account because that Gothic look didn't fit in with my fashion ambience.. Nothing to do with the charges. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.0

Oh ok......have you told Martin Lewis about that ? He's obviously just wasting his time informing everyone about the various incentives there are available...
Thanks for checking up on me - but for your information I had actually closed my FD account before all these charges were confirmedmoneymode wrote:Anyway you'll not be that bothered chairman miaow seeing as you have shut your FD account(mentioned in another thread).
Certainly you can....moneymode wrote:Can i laugh though when you come crawling back once all banks etc charge and they dont have the same customer service
...but it won't be as much as I'm laughing at you now !0 -
Changed to another bankAnd can I just add , I thought FD were wonderful when I used them....(certainly in comparison to A&L anyway) and if I still banked with FD I wouldn't have been liable for the £10pm charge...
...but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have changed my account0 -
but the trouble is that I really like the Internet Banking Plus account aggregation feature. Mind you, thinking about it, they are part of the evil HSBC group, so probably don't deserve my business.
I might have to dust off my Egg Money Manager, and see if that will do the job for me. Does any other institution offer a decent account aggregator?0 -
Changed to another bankBut black?, it's just SO last year...Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.0

Search these forums for accountunity - I beleive these are the people who provide Egg with theirs and their own version is (I beleive) better; for instance you can put the password safe on removeable media.lardaholics_anonymous wrote:I might have to dust off my Egg Money Manager, and see if that will do the job for me. Staying with FDWe will be staying, but only because:
a) OH wages, Child Benefit and CTC push us over the £1500 minimum
b) Our credit rating is so shot to pieces that neither of us could get another accoutn even if we wanted to!
c) I love their call centre! People in England who I can speak to and who actually know what they are doing and can really deal with my issues straight away without passing me to someone else.... and then someone else... and then (you get the idea!)
And I didn't get a letter! In fact, If I was not a member here then I would never have known about it. (FD finally placed a small notice on my logining in page today to "View Changes to Charges" - not exactly explanatory!)0 -

It is possible to have a credit card and not get into debt, I pay mine by DD each month.;)0 -
I have an FD account that I don't really use. I'm just closing it. I moved to Alliance and Leicester recently as there interest rates on current and savings accounts are much better than FD. Both you and a friend get 50 quid if this is via a recommendation.
Anyone thinking of leaving FD should consider asking their friends if they are with A&L and can recommend this. If you don't know anyone and would still like to get your hands on the 50 quid, I could always send you a recommendation form in the post. Just contact me.0
