I would say that your claim in relation to the first accident is now the difference between what you get for the car and what you could have got without the damage as that is the loss you have suffered as a result of the first acident.

I would say that's about right.

  • I'm still chasing the 1st claim, they say they are going to speak with the 3rd party insurers on Mon to see if I will get a cheque, or if they will just pay repairers 2 fix it. The car has already been squished now, can I not say I already had the repairs done??

I wouldn't be so keen on revenge if it wasn't for the fact they hit my car, then drove off! The knew they'd hit me coz they had to manouver round me, and the damage is to my back door that my 3month old baby was in. They drove off in thier swanky BMW thinking they could get away with it. I probably would'v accepted £50 (ono!) at the scene & left it at that rather than getting it repaired.

Do I have to tell my old insurers that my car is no more? Or keep quiet as long as possible!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!
