Hope its not your account.0

The bank do not offer any type of internet banking service which for me would be a complete pain in the neck.0

i guess thats one of the reasons but also just wanted to find out more about the bank as they offer us dollar accounts and wanted to know if their charges and requirments to open the account are? or if anyone has an account with them, what is their views

Yes apologies - was writing very quickly!0 -
So, to sum it up, points in their favour:
- "Old fashioned" banking (why is stuff being old and superseded good again? Hate when people use "old fashioned" as some kind of mark of pride, when it actually means "I've not moved on from the 1970s because the modern world scares me")
- It has the name Harrods on it, which is posh, as opposed to being associated with Mohamed Al-Fayed, who is [expletive deleted]
- Don't have to look at poor people
Points that go against them:
- £20 charge per month if you want an account with them, or 78p per item - no extra benefits for this money other than above
- £30 charge for an overdraft facility
- Charges for virtually every other service unjustifiably excessive
- One branch, no Internet banking
- Snooty, up-their-own-backside customers
- Dire interest rates which even most high street banks could beat without an issue
Conclusion: Deeply cynical enterprise that will fleece you so you can feel special while actually providing a worse service than the free equivalent.
I'll stick with my current bank ta.urs sinserly,

Exactly! Well done for writing it out so precise.
It is just to feel special with 'Harrods'. No good to you if you live, like me, in Kent by the beach lol. London is a long walk lolHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

The account is free if you maintain £2,500
I doubt that the Bank is looking for customers like you  and from your posting history it is unclear whether you have £2,500 available to meet the Bank's minimum deposit requirements
If you did have a spare £2,500 , would your opinion of the Bank remain unaltered ?
Is your average balance at current bankers in excess of £2,500 ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Seems even with an average balance you will get fleeced on charges-and for most people with or without money- internet banking and decent interest rates are a basic requirement.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
