i guess thats one of the reasons but also just wanted to find out more about the bank as they offer us dollar accounts and wanted to know if their charges and requirments to open the account are? or if anyone has an account with them, what is their views0

I'm not sure why anyone would want to bank with Harrods Bank. According to their Personal Account Charges and Fees document, they charge £5 for a BACS payment. Rather than mentioning something useful like FPS, they say "unlike almost all other banks, we will return your paid cheques". According to Wikipedia, they were founded in 1893, but they don't seem to have moved on much since then, in terms of either their services or their charges.0

I also believe you after visit the Knightsbridge store to open the account. Send them an email and ask.0

Some people prefer old fashioned banking
http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/banking_and_finance/article7017839.eceTotally agree. Banks use to present themselves with a much more prestigious image in years gone by than they do in this day and age.
I certainly think that the move banks have made to appeal to the "lesser educated masses" has contributed to societies mis-use of creditHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I love the photocopied A4 sheet of paper as a PDF, where the text is not even selectable! What service you get for your £5 per BACS payment! You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Banking with Harrods is not worth it. Their savings accounts are poor too.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

You get the personal attention of a high calibre banker who deals exclusively with affluent customers and they don't come cheap :cool:Banking with Harrods is not worth it. Their savings accounts are poor too.
Of course it is worth it just to avoid the Nat West blue debit card type of customer , I was stuck behind one last week and I only needed an envelope to use the self service deposit slot
Their banking hall is impressive tooHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
