SKy BB - Limit 40GB download for certain areas?

Hi all,

i could not believe when my workmate told me, he got a Sky Broadband deal and they only offer him a 40gb download.

Apparantly they told him, thats the only available offer, incl a download speed of 8mb.

Does Sky have limits for certain areas, in this case Motherwell??

It's the Sky Connect service and it's dire.

Some exchanges have Sky's own equipment installed in the exchange (known as Local Loop Unbundling, or LLU) and some don't.

If the exchange is unbundled you'll get offered Unlimited at "up to" 20mbps speed. If not, you'll be offered Connect at "up to" 8mpbs and subject to a 40gb d/l limit.

The usual recommendation is to avoid Connect as it's a heavily contested heavily traffic shaped service with very poor speeds especially in the evenings.
