Your best off asking the jsa as i think they can help with money until you get your first wage as you have been on the jsa for more than 6 months. I don't know the name of it but don't the jsa give a person that have been on the jsa for more than 6 months a one off payment for finding work but the job has got to be more than 16 hours and got to last for a few weeks. You should also get 4 weeks extended rent and council tax benefit but you will have to ask the jsa abouts this and then go and see the council to tell them that your going to start work as you need to fill forms in for the extended rent and council tax. I would go and see the council before you start work to find out what you need so you can start getting everything ready as if your council is like mine you will start paying rent or coucil tax before everything is sorted out.0

Yep, burtons is right. Since you've been claiming for longer than 6 months and have a child, you should be eligible for a Job Grant of £250, as long as there have been no breaks/sanctions applied. There's more info on direct.gov.uk - just search for "job grant".The Benefits & Tax Credits Board aka The Welfare & Judgement Board0

You dont have to apply for job grant it is paid automatically if you qualify.
You would also get a final payment of JSA as this is paid 2 weeks in arrears; from the day after you last signed on, to the date before you start work. (But you must contact your jobcentre to let them know you are starting work)
