    What a stupid moan this entire thread is.

    If people look at the adverts that they see on websites they will notice that they are usually linked to sites that they've visited.

    That explains a lot:o:rotfl::rotfl:.

    The are cars advertised online,the same model,age ect but with more milage than mine, for around £1500 up to £1700.WBAC offered me £475.

    You got a fair trade price - what were you expecting?

    If theres cars listed at £1500, then chances are they'll sell for maybe £1250.

    Your car will go to auction. Maybe they'll get £600 for it. The buyer will pay £80 fees.

    The buyer will then probably spend about £100 on refurbishment, ie, fixing bits that are wrong and maybe valeting it.

    He'll have to allow for some sort of warranty, so lets say he sets aside £100 to cover future problems. Also, he'll have to advertise it so thats £50.

    So its standing him £930. Assuming he gets the £1250, theres £320 profit. Out of that he'll need to pay VAT (£64) and tax (£80). He'll also have to cover his 'static' costs - a yard, rent, rates, electric, heating, etc. So lets allow £100 for that.

    So his NET profit will be £76 - assuming of course you havent actually traded in a pup with a major problem.

    Alternatively, all these people who whinge about WBAC valuations could maybe just not be lazy and advertise the car themselves??

    Just a thought.
