Hi Abba, thanks yes its good to know I am not rambling to myself! :)

Forget to add my food shopping spend at the weekend. So my aim was £30 (shopping at my budget supermarket)- as last week came in at £28, but unfortunately came in at £45! Still much lower than our usual shop, and bought 2 packs cheese which added up to £8. Checked it against the big T online and saved £12 this week for exactly the same stuff - really don't know how one can sell it so cheap while the others cost the earth!

Although this (and sky TV) comes out the joint account I think that it is best to change my attitude all round to spending, there is no point to this otherwise! And I am still getting the same lifestyle but cheaper!

Ahhhh, feet up and back to my cup of tea and half price TV :D

(p.s just thought I do have to pop out and get some food for the kitten monsters this week, they won't eat what they sell at the cheapo supermarket, fussy little beggers!) :p

Mine are fussy but they love the odd tin of cheapy tuna as a treat. Have you got a HomeBargains near you? Mine sells HiLife cat food for half of what Sainsbury's charge.

    Another day another dollar...................

Well not much to report today, was supposed to go spinning after work but my friend couldn't make it and didn't fancy going on my own, was gonna cost £5 but ended up with a NSD.

No sign of the santander £100

Had a rant at the OH for being a lazy s*d, honestly I make the tea every night and it wouldn't hurt for him to have a go. Ended up with us making seperate dinners, me eating downstairs and him upstairs!

Abba that is an amazing amount to spend every week for you and your kids, don't know how you do it! My budget is only for me and the OH! Mind you we used to spend £50 - £100 so £45 this week is an achievement, been shopping at L*dl but I do miss all the fancy stuff you can't get in there.
    :p
Shinytoaster, just checked for a home bargains and closest is 30 miles away, would def go if one was closer. I think I will try the tin of Tuna trick, as that is one of their fave flavours! My fault that they like expensive food, i bought some as it was on offer and now if I put cheaper stuff out they leave it which is more of a waste of money as I have to chuck it out.

Early night I think hopefully tomorrow will seem more appealing with a fresh head. One more day closer to pay day!

I used to do a big monthly shop and spend about £120 then get home and realised I bought rubbish (cakes, biscuits crisps etc) never any proper meals lothen have to spend another £30 / £40 a week getting stuff in so by going to Iceland I rein in my spending and get free delivery (no more humfing heavy bags up my stairs lol)

I think you've done a great job getting it down to £45 thats quite an achievement :T

Just having a giggle in my own head what a money saving convert I have become!

Sitting here at work with my cheese and pickle roll all nicely wrapped up in clingfilm, whilst 2 of my clgs have gone to the local pizza restaurant for lunch. Nothing wrong with treating yourself, but one of them (who is young, single, no kids, lives at home with parents) checked her bank before she left, realised she only had £2 to last until payday!!!!!! (Friday so not long to wait), and she had to buy petrol to get her home tonight (about 20 miles same as me). I started teasing her how she hadn't budgeted for the month etc, need to try harder next month!!! :rotfl:

Then she pulls out 2 brand new tops from under the desk that arrived in the post this morning, whilst moaning she doesn't know where her money goes! Reminds me of me not so long ago before I had my house though :o

    Hello Kei :)

Loving your diary, as you know my debt was similar the start of last year :/
My thoughts were the same, as it was overdraft/0% credit cards etc and I wasnt struggling too much to pay them I didnt think of it as real debt. It wasnt until I was thinking of going away for a year (which obv didnt happen) that I realised I had £6k of debt hanging round my neck which would come with me!
I'm now paying off the last of my overdraft, will get proper figures next week.
Youre doing very well so far, heres to the figures coming down :):T

Thanks for your support, I can't remember the last time I didn't have something to pay off! Am starting to think that my life is becoming slightly boring though as I try not to go out too much, spend a lot of the weekend in the house, so will try and some think of some innovative things (not shopping;)) to do at the weekends! Any ideas welcome!

Spent a few quid on cat food today though that was from the joint account, had to go into the big T which I have not visited for a few weeks - oh the temptations! Magazines just in the door, special offer wine on the end of the aisle, and why is the cat food right down the bottom end so I had to walk past all that!!!?? Anyway managed to avoid everything else. Trying to work out what to have for tea as all the meat is still in the freezer, either beans on toast or pasta. Or I might make macaroni cheese  my fave. Very bad for me though. On the plus side I can take some to work tomorrow, and I need comfort food today! (yes, it's that time again :()
