Estate agent signs

Last week I moved into new rented accommodation and when I moved in there was one estate agent sign up (the agent we rented from - agent 1) and another dumped in our garden from another agent (agent 2).
As we moved in, our estate agent changed the sign from To Let, to Let By. The next day, estate agent 2 put their sign back up, over the first agent's sign that we had rented with.
The place we rented is a lovely character cottage, and the signs look very unsightly. My partner decided to take both signs down (though I told him not to). The next day agent 2 has put their sign back up still saying To Let (agent 1's sign is still littering the garden). It's also still on agent 2's website and Rightmove as To Let.
How long are they allowed to leave their signs up, and what rights do we have to get them removed?
The place I am currently renting still has the To Let sign up from the upstairs neighbour's who moved in in December!

Either contact the agents and ask them to remove the signs, and/or just remove them.0

If they are ARLA members, tell them to abide by their own code of practice. If they're not, quote the code of practice to them and ask why they think it's OK for them to act contrary to it.0 -
Thanks all, I just wanted to check that me, as a tenant, had a right to ask them to remove the signs as I am not the owner of the property.
Really bothers me that they entered my garden twice to fetch the sign and re-erect it.
Have emailed them to ask them to remove immediately.0 -
Send them an invoice of £25/week for advertising space.0

Offer to return it to them. By posting it through their letter box if they don't come and collect it.0

When I thank a post in a thread I've not posted in,
it means that I agree with that post and have nothing further to add.

I am always on the letting sites as we are looking to move this year, finally. And there are some places around my area that I pass every day that are rented out, but are still on the estate agent sites. I emailed one about a perfect house but was let down when they said it had been rented for about 6 months now.0

Just got an email back from agent 1. They said that agent 2 had been sacked by the Landlord ages ago, and they had been taking their sign down whenever they went round for viewings, but every time, someone would come back and put it back up again :rotfl:
Funny thing is, I found an email I had sent through rightmove to EA 2 a while back asking to view that same property. They never got back to me. A couple of weeks later, I saw it on Rightmove again, with EA 1 and £200 pm cheaper! I actually thought it was worth the extra £200 so it's no wonder they were sacked
Agent 2 has finally removed the property from Rightmove, but not from their own website. Hopefully they'll be as quick to remove the sign as they are to put it back up again.0 -
The law says that such signs can stay in place until 14 days after completion or signing of a tenancy agreement.
After 14 days, take it down yourself and ask them to come and collect it.0
