Your OH ex employers aren't going to say that he was forced out of work due to racism, they will make up something I would have thought. he needs really to put his side across to the JC before the ex employers.
Maybe your husband should go to the CAB or a welfare rights organisation & get everything down in writing about the events that led to him walking out. Did he keep a diary of sorts of what was happening?0 -

As you are only working 10 hours you can claim Jobseekers in your own name. It stops when you are working 16 hours or more in a week. As far as the tenner it costs you to get to work as a couple you can keep the first £10 of earnings before it affects the JSA payment so you won't be any worse off in the end (unless your travel costs are much higher)
