Disposable cameras on the table

I'd say it's a No too, but that's just my opinion. When I've seen then in wedding magazines I've just thought what a waste of money, there are other more useful things you could put on the table. I personally wouldn't put anything on at all.
But at the end of the day it's what you want isn't it?I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
I did this for my wedding and am really glad I did, we got some lovely photos from them. We got the cameras cheap from Home Bargains and they had some to match our colour scheme. I haven't seen the photos that most of our guests took on their own cameras so would definitely recommend doing it!
I did this at my wedding to got some excellent non-posed shots priceless0 -
Im not putting them out on the tables, but i am including a disposable camera in the activity packs for the children attending our wedding, complete with a challenge sheet of pictures they have to try and get.
A couple of years ago we gave our cousins (age 5 & 7) a disposable camera at a wedding and told them to go do funny pictures of people and they had a pineapple dressed up as a bride that they had to sneak into shots without being seen by the subject. It was a great laugh, kept the kids entertained and the photos afterwards were hilarious.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
I too am not bothering, the cameras are cheap but cost a lot to process. If you set up a wedding website people can upload pictures to there as well. Or a facebook account? You could get the free postcards from vistaprint with the details on so guests can take home and upload as they download from their cameras!0

I'd say no. Complete waste of £70 getting them developed. We got cheap cameras from Confetti and they were awful. Only about 10% of the photos even came out and those that did were mostly of kids pulling faces. Some of which were funny but there are no pics from the disposables in our albums.
We got much better pics from other peoples' cameras. Before the wedding I saw blank CDs in a wallet that could be put on the tables with a message saying 'please return these to us with your photos' (worded nicer than that). Wish we had got those instead.0 -
I'd say no also - was at a wedding where they did this and the photos were rubbish, kids taking photos of nothing and lots of blurred ones (too many drinks by the time the evening reception comes round!)0

Did this for my first wedding and to be honest, we mostly got pictures of people's feet, and pictures taken by children. One camera got pinched, and no one properly followed the instructions to use the flash.
For this wedding I'm going to give everyone the password and link to a flickr or photobucket account i'm setting up just for the wedding. I was going to give everyone a special little memory stick, but i don't think i'll be able to get them cheap enough.saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
We're 29% of the way there...0 -
Whenever I go to a wedding I take my camera and send any good photos to the B&G afterwards. I love the idea of the business card with an online photo album for people to upload to - what a good idea.
I also love the idea of getting disposable cameras just for the children - and the prop is just inspired! At all the weddings where we've had disposable cameras on tables they only seem to get used by the children anyway... When I've used one myself (e.g. at music festivals etc) the picture quality is so poor it's been a waste of time, even when I followed instructions properly0 -
Hi, we had wasted photos from disposal cameras at our wedding, lots of photos of blurred beer bottles etc.
What I tell my clients to do before the wedding is to prep their guests. Send them an email or facebook message and ask them to take some impromptu photos, tell them you would like to have some photos of them and their family. Most digi camera also take videos these days and its great to have some special 10 sec clips to add to a wedding photo slide dvd.
All it takes is a bit of co-ordination. These photos make an excellent photo book on their own or mixed in with engagement and honeymoon pics.
Have a good wedding.:T0 -
Thanks everyone, hate to admitted but he was right, i wil not bother. Ill just ask close friends and family for their photos that they took at night...0
