whats best, the satisfaction of resignation, or to be dismissed. benefits wise?

Maybe to the OP it would mean that he is in control of his destiny as opposed to being told he has no job?
On the other hand and as the OP has asked the question, satisfaction doesn't come into it if in doing so it may mean the loss of up to 6 months JSA payments!

Ahhh, gone are the days when you got dole if you were sacked (not your fault) and not if you resigned (your choice).

luckily its not for me, but i do need to know if resigning instead of being dismissed affects benefits in the way i think, which is massivly out of date and purely anecdotal.
so as i understand it, if you resign you dont get dole, but if your sacked you do... the person who needs this information has these 2 choices.
now obviously this is outdated. so whats it like these days??0 -
Sacked or resign - the JCP will ask the claimant why they were sacked/resigned and will then write to the employer. Either way the claimant may be sanctioned for up to 26 weeks. This means the JCP may deduct some/all of your benefits for as long as they deem fit.0
