have a look at overstocks, I have had a lot of very beautiful items via the worldstock fairtrade section

    http://www.overstock.com/search?keywords=table+runners&SearchType=Header

there is a 13 x 90 ins in the gemstone and you will probably find lot more but you`ll have to delve

    125 under this search

  • If you come across any that are in any of the shops near me, i wouldnt mind going out and getting it for you and popping it in the post if thats helps at all :)....mind you its finding one in a shop first i guess lol.

Are you on facebook? I have quite a few people who run businesses for handmade goods on mine, im sure someone like that would gladly make you one and the postage would be a lot better too

That's a very kind offer, thank you. :) I've had another kind poster making the same offer and I'm really very touched just how kind and helpful MSE'rs can be. I really appreciate it.

As you say though, I'm struggling to find the right thing in the first place. :D

kittie, will go check out those links now, thank you. :)

    Hi

Just wanted to say I empathise completely. I live in the middle of the Cairngorms National Park. Mostly I love it but sometimes it all gets a bit much ...

If you are really stuck for a runner how about a (cheap) red curtain? One glorious day when I was trying to sell my last house and the baby had just spilled juice all over the middle of my beautiful white table cloth I folded a thin curtain in half (cut off the tab tops though) and created a runner "artfully" placed over the stain. I received lots of comments on how well I had dressed my room and how everything blended.

Oooohh cheating. What a good idea. :T:rotfl:

If you can find fabric you like, I can make you one to your exact dimensions? I'll even do postage at cost :-) I love a good crafty challenge :-)

    What's your deadline?

Can't make a helpful suggestion but sending sympathy.

25 years ago DH applied for a job in Fort William, at that time we had a 6 month old baby and lived very conveniently in London. I still remember his face hurtling downwards when I explained, in some detail :o, exactly why I didn't want to go off into the wild blue yonder ...

These days I have birds in the garden (including a wild parakeet) a huge park close by and a beach 15 minutes walk away all while living in a city ;)
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Thank you. :) I'm not sure what's worse....looking for a runner or looking for fabric. _pale_:rotfl:

Will definitely keep your kind offer in mind. :T

I was hoping to have a lovely table for the weekend as I've got family visiting but clearly that's not going to happen now. :rotfl:

Now ironically, every time I'm checking Argos website for some clearance bargain or other, the ONLY place that ever still has stock up here is Fort William.

And when I collected little mole ornaments, there was one very limited edition model that I struggled to get, I got a stockist list from the manufacturer and called every name on the list literally from Land's End to John O'Groats. Guess where I tracked one down? Yip Fort William! :rotfl: I can only assume no-one wants to live there so there's always plenty stock to go round. :rotfl:

(Sorry to any/all happy Fort Williamers, just jesting. ;))

It's miles and miles away from me though so a bit far to browse for a table runner. :D

What kind of red are you after? Coca cola red? There would need to be a join in there somewhere as most fabrics are only around 150cm wide. Unless you want to buy 2.5 meters of fabric and take a strip off the edge, but that's not very MSE when could make a feature out of the join!

Not fond of joins tbh. :o Think I'd rather buy the longer fabric. I know that's not MSE and I should feel ashamed....but I just don't. :rotfl:
