  • If you can get a hold of a windows 7 starter, know how to get your product key and know how to install from a usb stick you could do a fresh install without the carp.

Or you could avoid the hassle and just install some flavour of linux, unless you really need windows which is less likely on a netbook.
There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Windows XP ran okay on my Asus EEE 901 netbook... but security applications really slowed everything down and updating them all took forever. I installed Arch linux and the XFCE desktop environment and it performs so much better.

  • Is it running better now? Closed's thread is very good for cleaning other stuff. I use my netbook when out ie like now, and I can run quite happily with W7 starter but I have 2Gb on mine but I am currently running Linux under VirtualBox 4 so yes at the mo mine is slow but without VirtualBox+linux it runs very sweet. I have also got a dual boot set-up so I can run linux native, and when I have timne i will try running Windows 7 under VirtualBox on my linux half.

I notice you are still running some of the SOny Stuff which do don't really need, not saying delete them just disable them from starting up.
PLus unless you need I would disable your Bluetooth stuff too.
