There are a few Sony programs which will maybe slow things down a bit, but you may want to use some of them.
Is this new, or new to you - and how much RAM does it have, as a lot of netbooks come as standard with too little.

I'd factory restore if it was mine.

My Toshiba N300 ran like a dog from new. Replaced existing 1 gig memory chip with 2 gig chip (Only 1 slot ). Then used "msconfig" utility from command line to disable all the unnecessary startup programs "google toolbar notifier", "Realplayer", "manufacturers diagnostic utilities" etc etc. Runs much faster now.

Download start-up lite from Malwarebytes here or get CCleaner and go to Tools/Start-up it's here

If you want to see a visible increase in performance, the first thing you have to do is upgrade to 2GB of RAM - 1GB simply doesn't cut it with Win 7.

Alternatively, install EasyPeasy instead.
