Stronghold will worm as well as deflea. My boy is also sick after Dromtal or similar.0

The spot on treatments are fab! Unfortunatley they don't cover for tapeworm though - neither advocate or stronghold.
Milbemax is an excellent wormer, and they have just released a tasty chewable form - my pooch will literally beg for it!! Awesome! Drontal is good too, and also has a palatable form - my dog will eat it like a treat but I've seen some that turn their nose up.
There is no single product out there that will offer complete protection. Personally, as a vet nurse, I use Advocate, Drontal and Indorex spray, and we have a parasite free house!

You can get "natural" wormers online.
No offence at all, but I would ALWAYS recommend getting flea and worm treatment from the vets

I've just purchased some wormers now! Wish I'd seen the replies before I did.
I'll see how he goes on with those, but if they also make him sick it's a trip to the vet to get him sorted. He's only 2 so certainly shouldn't go off his food for no reason.
He's not showing any signs of being unwell at all so I might have got it wrong. Outdoors he's his usual Speedy Gonzales self racing round like a lunatic. Maybe he's just fed up of the same food and fancies a change...!0 -
hmmm i am glad i read this post.
Perry had a good run around the fields a week last tuesday, surfing through the mud pools between fields that the cows walk through, and then dived straight into a little wetlands stream, that looked clean but..
when OH got him back in the car he suggested Perry has a shower because he stank of organic material..
so Perry has a shower and i made sure he was throughly clean, but the last few days he's been a bit fusy with food, his own, our leftovers etc, i did look at him this eve and he did seem on the podgy side.. He is eating, but not all his food...
either pup is constipated, or maybe he has some unwanted visitors, other than that he is his usual cheeky playful self, thinks i will keep an eye on his for a day or so.
Thanks all, if i hadn't read this then i wouldn't of thought of possible worms, although he was done in October with the usual yearly booster, i honestly thought it was a yearly one as it was all a quick jab whilst feeding him treats, maybe i will ring vet in the morning for advise just to put my mind at rest.0 -
You need to worm three monthly at least after you have gone through the puppy stage
In fact depending on where you live and what you feed your dog and family make up - vets can advise worming monthly0 -

Science works lolId agree, wormers bought anywhere other then those dispensed by a vet will not cover all worms - lungworm in particular

Again I mean no offence, but I must ask if you (and I am sure you have) spoken to your vet, and explored all POM wormers?
For my interest, may I ask how your dogs allergy manifests?
ETA - I forgot an important point! Sorry! Has your vet reported your dogs reaction to a POM-V to the VMD? This should be done whenever an animal has an unexpected or severe reaction to a veterinary licensed medication.I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
