Any recent tyre deals?
I am needing to upgrade 3 or 4 tyres on my car and was quoted £185 per tyre by Audi! I am hoping to fit fairly decent tyres but not necessarily one of the top 5 brands.
I have read that Vredestien Ultrac Sessanta are a good quality tyre for a decent price but was wondering if anyone on the forum knows of any decent offers? I seem to remember Michelin offering a buy 3 get 1 free offer last year. Anything similar going about?
If it makes any difference, I am in the Newcastle area
Cheers

I always phone around my local independent dealers after phoning BMW for a shock!
Don't see the point in looking for gimmicky price deals when the good guys charge sensible prices all year round. Tell them what you want and they'll give you a price for it. If they don't have it or they have a differing opinion, they're quick enough to let you know what they do recommend.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's less about offers, as you will still pay for the brand name somewhere along the line. It's better to find a good 'budget' tyre that will still do a good job for you. For me, Maxxis/Federal-SS595/Firestone/Avon are all reasonably priced and a good quality tyre for a fair price. Try the online stores with your tyre size and check for those manufacturers. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Did you actually say that?!? An employee by any chance? Possibly worse than Kant-Fix, and far from competitive if my local branch is anything to go by.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Try the likes of black circles, you order on line, and have delivered to a local tyre fitter, have used a few times and saves the hassle of phoning around.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I used Black Circles for my local tyre centre but before booking through the Black Circles website I called the garage myself and they knocked a small amount of the Black Circles price so ended up with a fantastic deal and great service :money:
Worth a try
Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

Another good one to try is Event Tyres. I think they have a 20% discount if you buy 4 tyres in one go. They also come out to you. They were the cheapest for the tyres I bought in December (Pirelli 6000 (195 65 55))."I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0

This will be cheaper than ringing your auto - fit centres. They are much cheaper and you chose a local fitting centre like national tyres etc. It has to be booked a few days in advance, but put your tyre size in:

Are Avon considered budget these days?
They are certainly well priced, put two on the front of the wifes Clio, good tyre, much better than the Continentals that they replaced. Especially in the wet, snow recently. Though that may be down to the fact the tread pattern on the Continentals was just basically thick straight lines of thread.
New tyre was an AVON ZV3, I think.
As far as the OP goes, you just need to phone around, those as already mentioned BlackCircles seem to have a good rep on the forum, I personally use Elite in Rainham, thoughuseless to the OP as he lives up North.
Though surely there must be a similar large tyre retailer up North.
THough buying from Audi can't be a cheap solution, reckon you can get cheaper easier.
Have also heard many good things about Vredestien tyres.
But I wouldn't put P6000's on any car again. Though they may suit an Audi, they certainly aren't the best tyre for a Mondeo MK3, though they are well oriced and are often seen on Mondeo MK3's, maybe I am too fussy.0
