Hello
Next week I fly to Orlando on a scheduled airline. It was booked with one changeover. Today the airline have contacted me and said they are adding an extra stop to my flight. It will add another 4 hours to my travel time.
Am I entitled to a slight refund on my fare?

No, you're not. What is the change in routing?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Does this still apply if you are advised of the 'delay' in advance? Not a refund as such but you may be entitled to compensation for the delay in arrival if this exceeds 3 hours. You need to read EC 261/2004 and the Sturgeon ruling.
EC 261/2004: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32004R0261:EN:HTML
Sturgeon ruling: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:62007J0402:EN:HTML
Be aware that claims before the courts are currently stayed due to a legal challenge to Sturgeon by several UK airlines which may take 1-2 years to resolve but once heard (and defeated) you have the option of resurrecting your claim. Be sure to put the airline on notice that is what you intend to do once you return from holiday.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
