Thanks. Have ordered one, and also the fattrap. I am in West Yorkshire, so hopefully will get one!
  • Has anyone got theirs yet. I got the fat trap that I ordered after the bird thing but no sign of it and I am a Yorkshire water customer

I have had everything but the fat cake i got the flush saver, stop tap tag and fat traps within a couple of weeks of ordering but still no sign of the fat cake. it is advertised on there home page so they are still actively promoting it.
If it ain't free it ain't worth buying!

I requested one of these ages ago, but I'm not a Yorkshire Water customer so I don't think I'll be getting one.

Looked on Play.com, and they sell the same thing for £2.29 free delivery, in case anyone on here really wanted one! http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/13954896/Fat-Bird-The-DIY-Fat-Cake-Making-Kit/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&searchstring=fat+bird&urlrefer=search Also has a video to show you what to do.

Thanks for the link - I might just buy one as I'm not in Yorkshire either and I was quite taken by it!

Anyone know if there's anything particularly special about the Fat Bird mould, other than its (very cute!) feet? Just wondering if any old silicone cupcake mould would be just as suitable as I have plenty of those already. I'm guessing that as long as the fat isn't too hot and the case holds its shape well then it'd be fine.
  • Yup, a silicone cupcake would work just as good - basically that's all the Fat Bird mould is, except for the cute feet lol! :P

I've seen some of those in my local Home Bargains, are they good?

P.S. Also, yes the fat does need to have cooled slightly. He mentioned that in the video.

Individual silicone cupcake moulds can be picked up very cheaply (pound shops etc). Lots of people love them but I tried mine a couple of times and found that the cakes were sticking to the moulds....not sure what I'm doing wrong there but I'm sure the fat cakes would pop out very easily!

Thanks again for the link. They're £4.99 on Amazon so yours was a great spot! :)
