No reply to complaint letter to Bt.. what next?

Wrote a long letter of complaint to BT about their service (we have bt total broadband.) and a catalogue of problems we've had. On the letter I stated I required a response within 7 days or I would consider the contract void (We're in a 12 month min contract) and it's been a week and I haven't heard anything from them...
My question is what do I do now? I'm fed up of calling them and though I would get better service through their complaints department but lo and behold.. nothing. I threatened to switch to a different provider because of the rubbish service but I was hoping they'd just resolve our problems and everything would be fine.
Can anyone help? Don't want to switch unless I absolutely have to and I don't want to go ahead and switch in case BT charge us for the remaining contract even though I sent the complaint letter stating I would consider the contract void.

Their CEO does respond to complaints.

  • Hi
I wrote to BT over a month ago - still waiting...same sort of problem made worse by the fact that we are now going away and still have to pay the contract out...cheers and good luck

Give the chairmans office a ring, they have their own complaints team who seem to get things sorted out much more quicker than BT's own complaints team....

Yup same as above, if you have had an outstanding fault for over 14days booked to Wholesale the contract can be canceled and you will not be held to terms of the contract.

Also if you keep the service if fault is ever fixed you can ask for a good will gesture ;)

they will cover downtime and usually a bit extra.
