The VM engine is in the TX4 aswell, better than the older Ford engine.

I know little about the Voyager, apart from the fact they are big and juicy, even in diesel.

But it was develped when Merc was involved, so perhaps they attached their DPF tech to it.

To be honest I didn't know they fitted a DPF to any Chryslers, live and learn and all that.

VM is definately Italian as you say, one of the good points about the Rover 825 TD was it had a VM engine and a Honda gearbox ( I think).

But how on Earth can your satellite navigation take into account weight, environment, tyres, fuel, road surface etc.?

It doesn't - its just an estimate but, as I say, quite a good one usually accurate to +/- 2 mpg.

My comments about averaging mid 50's is based on 60,000 miles worth of motoring. Is that a waste of time?
As a matter of fact, yes. You will drive very differently than I do, or any one else for that matter. You may coast more, or use more braking power, or be heavier or lighter footed than everyone else. Your journeys will be totally different to everyone else as well.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
