I'd like people to say what Make, Model, Engine size, Fuel , Year or Reg they have what their book claims for combined mpg and what they actually get, If you feel up to it put in Urban and Extra Urban aswell. To convert l/100km into mpg use 282/L where L = no. of litres per 100km
Obviously if you give a single mpg figure please make it the one figure which you normally get, and most of us know what we get week on week. But some people below have chosen to also add their best and worst, that's fine as long as it's made clear. Thanks for replying ! And please ignore the trolls, you'll know them when you see them.

    Why is this information required?

I think it is well known that manufacturers fuel consumption figures are only an industry standard, with the same test and conditions applied to all cars, to allow a benchmark, actual consumtion figures vary widely due to the way a car is driven, and where.
  • Too many variables..... Like the tyre wear thread idea.. Usually I drive a X20XEV Vectra... thats 2mpg below the Manufacturers figures... Now and then I have a 1.9D Xsara for the same weekly commute and thats 2.4mpg over the Manufacturers figures... Clocked & Necked each time.

    Mondeo Diesel 2004 Estate

    Book says 48mpg

Real life average over a tank 26mpg, 28mpg, 38 mpg or 48mpg, Take your pick i keep track
of all my fuel usage and i have got those readings over the past 12 months.

I was averaging 62mpg for a while but i got bored and it dropped to 56mpg, But i then did lots and
lots of very very short journeys which knocked it back to low 40's.

Almost all 4 x 3 mile daily journeys through town on the school run with an occasional 10 to 20 mile trip and return. Not impressive but I was not expecting 50 mpg or any such nonsense. In fact, I don't think I'd get any motor to do much over 40 mpg in an auto and an oil burner with DPF would be a joke.
