For this digital swithcover coming up,
We need a Digital ariel (if we dont already have one) right?
a) For this do we need a freeview box?,
in order to get the other channels?
b) Can the old 4-5 channel TV still work after the switch over?
c) do I need to buy a Brand new TV, aswell as the Freeview box?
d) can you go to www.argos.co.uk, and help me find the cheapest/but Best freeviewbox, for this switchover.
EDIT:
I checked on http://www.freeview.co.uk/availability:
It says
Good news. You should be able to receive all the Freeview channels.
Does this mean, all I need is a box?

a) Yes
b) Yes
c) No
d) I'd recommend searching by price on ebay - a way as good as any other of finding what's good and what's not.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Is there a website which is a freeview checker, which shows if your Postcode/road has freeview? in the ariel/signal, by entering the website, and getting a YES or NO?
what websites show this?

I did a freeview check, and it says the freeview is available in 2012?
checked on http://www.freeview.co.uk/HD
Freeview HD available: 2012
What does that mean?
Whereas
http://www.freeview.co.uk/availability
says it is available?
what do they mean by 2012? I thought it was months from now?
does that mean I have to get an ariel before then?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

Freeview HD is different to Freeview 'standard'.
I have had Freeview in my area for years and years, however we are not due to get Freeview HD until 2012.
From your other threads you arent looking for Freeview HD, but you want standard Freeview.
If you want Freeview HD then you will need a HD TV etc - its alot more expense!0 -
