Following on from this I have just borrowed a tom tom and thinking I may drive. What was putting me off before was parking, according to Leeds met no nearby parking (dont mind paying) is this true? Surely theres somewhere close I could park to the uni. Anyone? Cheers

If the Leeds Met building is the one I think it is (99% sure it is) then the closest you will get is the Merrion multi-story which costs something silly like £1.80 per hour. Parking charges in Leeds City Centre are ridiculous and now that another several hundred spaces have gone to make way for the new music venue it's only going to get worse. :(

If you are going to the Headingly Campus then they have onsite parking.

I went there in my car at Xmas for exams, parking was 50p per hour or something and was right on campus, so a 5min walk to where she needs to be.

Thanks for that, in information said limited parking and suggested a car park miles away! Said try to come on public transport. I think interview time is too early at 9am for people travelling from a long distance away

Well I was there on exam day and there were quite a few spaces left in the car parks, yeah it's not a huge car park, but I can't see you having a problem.

Also, the long road up to the Uni has car parking on either side of the road too.

Another idea, you could drop her at the Uni and then pop down to the petrol station next to it and wait for her to say she has finished, if you can't find a parking space that is.. big petrol station, has an M&S food inside it, so you can get your lunch there too lol..

Lots of residential streets nearby that you could park up in for an hour or two.

At 9am I would almost guarantee you could park in the car park though.

Thanks everyone. Decided to drive, managed to park on site 40p an hour. Interview went well, but unfortunately got a rejection last night. We were told on day that 2250 had applied for the course, she was one of 1000 interviewed, but they only had 100 places. Shes beginning to panic now, feels if not got in there hasnt got in at Edgehill either where she had interview week before (struggled a bit with the maths questionaire even though as GCSE). Got interview for Manchester met which is now late April due to her going away, and still waiting to hear from Cumbria. Majorly pannicking wont get anywher due to primary teaching being so popular and number of candidates this year. Thanks again for everyones advice

Oh dear, sorry to hear that!

Can she still apply for a 'back up' course in case she can't do her first choice?

Glad you got there okay and managed to park :D

Bit off topic but if she took a year out and did some volunteer work with young children one would suspect it would greatly improve her chances.

Hi thanks for replies. The good news is just had email and been offered a place at Edgehill. Just looking at financial stuff. Does anyone know for maintenance loan when it says household income is it gross or net? Just trying to work things out. Thanks again
