getting to Leeds met uni
Hi my daughter has interview at Leeds met. She will be getting the train to Leeds, and will then have to get a bus to the Headingley campus LS6 3QQ. Is the bus station close to the rail station and does anyone know what number bus she would need to get and how long it takes etc. Any advice would be appreciated

Plenty of buses go near the Uni. Typical journey time about 30 mins.

Go here, type 'leeds' in the from box, select 'Station/Airport', then put the postcode into the next box. Will work out the complete journey for you.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

The bus station is a long way from the railway station, but most buses go through the centre of Leeds before going to Headingley.
Search for 'buses to leeds met' and there's a link.0 -
How about getting a taxi there? and then she can get the bus back, which will be easier if she isn't in a panic?
Loads of taxis outside the station. Taxi ride will be around 15 minutes.9/70lbs to lose

OP, this the leaflet you need to print.
According to the second page of that leaflet, it's just a 20 minute walk from Headingly rail station. Just another idea.0 -
If she wants really to go to the bus station, there is a free city bus that does a circular journey from the railway station round the city, one of the stops being the large bus station.
I love Leeds, its brilliant for shopping.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I went to the Headingly campus for an exam a few weeks ago, the Headingly station is indeed about a 20-25 min walk, reasonably easy to find if she has a street map.
I still vote the taxi though, especially for an interview. Last thing you want is to be late or so flustered you look like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards lol.9/70lbs to lose

come out of train station queens hotel exit. cross road straight over head towards Loch Fine restaurant (10 seconds away), turn immediately left after it onto Infirmary St. Stand B, services 1 & 95. buses drop off outside uni on woodhouse lane.
I'd still get a taxi though, rank outside station.0 -
Woodhouse Lane is not Headingley Campus though http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=LS6+3QS&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Leeds+LS6+3QS,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&ll=53.825989,-1.595078&spn=0.025381,0.084543&z=14 nearer Headingley station.come out of train station queens hotel exit. cross road straight over head towards Loch Fine restaurant (10 seconds away), turn immediately left after it onto Infirmary St. Stand B, services 1 & 95. buses drop off outside uni on woodhouse lane.

The free bus straight outside the station also goes near Woodhouse lane. Not relevant here though.0 -
Agree with earlier comments about the taxi. There's a black and white taxi rank right outside the train station door and I would guess that she could get a cab to the uni for around £5 or so. The bus fare would likely be around £2 and may involve a bit of a hike across Leeds City Centre to get it, for the sake of a few £ I personally wouldn't bother. She can get a bus back into the centre easily enough and browse a few shops before returning home though.

(I'm Leeds born and bred btw)

Yup, I have not so fond memories of last September.. got the train to Leeds for my first day, didn't have a clue where I was going.. Walked for 25mins in the worst rain ever, it was pouring it down

I know what I'm doing now, but back then it was the worst day ever.. lol.
The taxi rank is brilliant as well. I had to get the train to Leeds one day to hand an assignment in, and then catch another train somewhere else and only had half an hour. The taxi guy got me up to uni, waited for me, and took me back to the station
