Want to cancel my talktalk order before golive date, anything I should know?

Basically starts out like this.

I was on a 12 month contract with Bethere for £7.50 per month broadband + recently approx £10 per month landline, but as of March they are phasing out the 40gb service for the unlimited service but eventually I'd need to pay nearly double the broadband(£14.08).

So I decided last week to go for another provider which keeps me within the £20 per month cost, silly enough of me, I decided talktalk, reading the recent reviews that it hasn't really got any better it has got me worried. But also my GoLive date is 25th Feb, I've made a decision to try and switch to Orange Broadband instead(mainly because its a better deal if I have an orange payg phone) but I wonder if its going to be much hassle to cancel my TalkTalk order about 10 days before GoLive date and switch to Orange before my Bethere landline date finishes March 12th.

Any advice?

Thanks

Simon

A bit more info. I requested a MAC code from Bethere and I haven't "used" it yet or needed to give it to talktalk. Also I was given 3 months free if I kept with Bethere, but after those 3 months, it'd be nearly a £25 per month cost than a £18 - £19 cost.
  • If you don't use P2P then talktalk will be fine, don't worry! I've been on talktalk LLU broadband for last few months and very impressed with the actual broadband service...line speeds (16 meg) 24/7, with not a single outage. The reason talktalk get such bad reviews is because their phone support is pants, however their broadband service (LLU at least) is top notch. For support you should visit their forums where their support staff are very helpful. I recommend you try them out first as they have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, you might be surprised on how good their broadband service is :)

    Hello shoust,

With the time-scales being very close i wouldn't like to give you a 100% yes or NO to your questions however it may be possible to cancel your order with talktalk and then go with whoever you want.

However if your order is "past the point of no return" then we wouldn't be able to stop it. As "baby frogmella" has said you get 30 day trial which enables you to leave free of charge if you don't like Talktalk.

Also any issues you do have can be dealt with here or on our forums as frogmella has said.

The quickest way to see if it is too late would be to call us and they can check straight away.

    Regards

    Dear TalkTalk Company Representative,

I am a Virgin Media Customer, who has just signed up to talk talk as i wished to migrate away.

I am at the pre-GOLIVE stage.

i.e We are awaiting our GOLIVE DATE.

Me and my family have just learnt that we will no longer be living at this property.

We might be moving in with family who already have an internet provider of their own.

Therefore I am now forced to cancel the new install (before the golive date).

I would like in detail please, a description of what this entails.

Can this be over the phone - or do I have to write in?

If so - which department and full address please.

I would like to know any information that is neccessary and/or relevant for me to achieve this goal.

    Thanks.

Copy of this send via PM.

Make sure you use Quidco for your Orange Broadband purchase.

£120 cashback on their £10/month anytime calls & unlimited broadband deal - meaning its free for the whole 12 month contract period.

Just have to pay line rental at £13.50pm

I managed to cancel my TalkTalk account before it went live (just call them or email them to call you).

The TalkTalk service I received BEFORE I even managed to become a customer was PATHETIC - stay away !!!

Do you have a link to this? I am about to leave VM as they seem to hiking my costs & refuse to reduce it by a penny! I just need Phone & Broadband - but I am not an Orange Customer (TMobile/Virgin Mob, 3!)

    Thanks

just sign up (free) and search for Orange (or any other broadband supplier as many have great cashback deals).

The Orange one states you need to be a customer (or pay higher rental if not) - so you could just get a PAYG with Orange to qualify.
