  • Just want to say a quick thankyou for this thread. I've had a fairly rubbish week (my fibro is somehow getting worse :( ), so I have been really struggling to find the encouragement to do anything more than just getting out of bed tbh. But this thread has given me little things to keep myself doing something rather than just decaying which is how I've felt!

The 'dot to dot' approach has become my friend this week especially, even if each dot has been heavily punctuated with sit down, whimper, cry, take tablets, move to next dot.

I don't post much but really wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who keeps this thread going. You've stopped at least one person going mad this week :)

When I was a teen my dad showed me how to unblock a u-bend and I absent-mindedly tipped dirty water over his head as he was checking under the sink, minus u-bend :o

Morning, afternoon and evening - I have been flying at daily level for the last couple of days - but at least I was doing everything on my list, so I am kind of happy. Especially as it looks as if I'm in with a chance of bottoming the ironing stool tonight :T mainly because Mr B has OFFERED to make dinner (toad-in-the-hole - one of his specials) - although I fear the washing up part will probably be down to me!

I made a list of everyone I wanted to say something to. I fear I wrote on the back of it and decluttered it - I certainly can't find it. :rotfl:

Ubamother - I can't claim to be in your situation, but I do have family who have had to overcome physical difficulties - and certainly as far as one of them was concerned, it was never about what she couldn't do, but definitely about what she could, even if this was done in a most unconvential manner - her attitude was "what does it matter if I sit on the floor to vacuum?" and she took notice of what anyone said to her about what she should or shouldn't do - stil doesn't if it comes to that - and she knows I support her attitude which means that I do get to hear about some of the scrapes she gets into which she won't tell others who tut about it. However, I digress. She lives alone, but her home is definitely one that people call into on all sorts of occasions - she now has some amazing friends as a result, and has a wonderful time - so I say "go for it". Friends are friends and I think it's a great idea to make your home a place for them to gather in.

EllieA - as a newbie, I would say it is about what you are doing, not about what you are not doing. Every time I shift something extra, I decide I'm not going to let that one thing slip back again. I also think it's about taking time for things to become a habit - and that does take time.

I have been decluttering left over pastry, offcut bacon pieces and extra eggs into a huge Quiche - so that's dinner for tomorrow taken care of. Just cooking some pilchard and garlic cake now.

Will be doing low level flying for the next couple of weeks - I have an event to prepare for in two weeks time, and I need to make certain I am ready for that. Mind you, it would be helpful if I'd been sent the numbers yesterday as per my "latest date" request - my shopping list is full of unknown quantities at the moment, so I can't even buy the non-perishables. And I've had to make a stab at the numbers for ordering my home made croissants and cinnamon rolls.

No snow here. Just enough rain to make poo patrol "interesting".

In my HHC, I've tidied the kitchen, made the sourdough into loaves to rise for tomorrow, started more dough for later, WM on, DD decluttered to work :j

I'm going to carry on for a bit, then shower and glad-rags :T

How did the rest of you do?

    I DID it!

    no video either

it's clean, it's dry and I feel VERY proud of myself...

all it's cost is £2.15 for the new gaskets (and the petrol to get to Wickes)
