Ian and LL - we'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Diva was an important and much loved member of our online community, and I'm sure that tomorrow will be the kind of celebration of her life that she would enjoy. I've loved seeing her candles over the last week as well - and its obvious that I'm not the only one who has been reluctant to see them go out... I don't think there have been fewer than 20 lit at any one time since the group was started.

Piggers - I do NOT need to go man-hunting thanks. The existing rather unsatisfactory situation is as much as I can manage. But I promise that I'm sorting it out :)

For those of you on FB, latest cake decorating pics are up. For those of you who aren't I'll try to update photobucket and post in the next day or so. Back to work before ex/OH finishes playing guitar with his kids and comes back to work to pick up where I'm finishing.

Need to pack tonight, as I'm off to see my parents after massage tomorrow.

emptied and re-filled the dishwasher and vacuumed the stairs - er... that's about it. bad day, but have had an epiphany. I rarely 'share' personal or emotional issues, but I'm going to now because it's good for me - sorry to be selfish and make you my therapists!! Over the last two years I have gone from a healthy, fit, active, camping, hillclimbing, full-time working, singing, dancing diva to disabled with little use of left leg, left wrist, left shoulder and with a lot of pain - it is a disease that is degenerating more rapidly than I ever imagined. As a naturally gregarious type used to being out or away with family and groups of friends and their kids doing things, planning things etc. Dancing, choir, walking, sandcastles etc. are no longer things in which I can participate. I've found my comparative confinement very very difficult, especially not doing stuff with friends. My friends are great, but I've been backing off because I've had real emotional difficulty in being 'the one in the wheelchair' the problem I think being my perception of me, not that of others. I have decided (and this flying malarky has been a real spark in this) that enough is enough. I have invited my friends round for a night in. I can't 'host' properly anymore so everyone is coming to mine and bringing food - on a Greek theme - next Friday. My epiphany is this - I'll make my house the hub of the universe and get everyone to come to me. This way I'm 'doing' - planning, inviting, initiating, having fun, but not having to 'do' everything to make it happen. I am still absolutely pathetic at getting through what I'm finding very similar to the process of grieving but I am determined to do so. My husband has promised to bling the wheelchair and add a bull horn (personally I'm going with fairy lights). Even when my flying day has been rubbish, I'm still managing more than I did before, and am so more comfortable invited the hordes in - so thank you all for your inspiration.

Oh, how wonderful. I hope it goes really well for you, let us know how it goes. I can really sympathise.

Hi guys. Can't fly as I'm ON HOLIDAY. But will be wearing and posting purple tomorrow. Didn't know Diva, but its obvious she was a special person.

Got a serious case of kitchen envy. My younger sister has moved - I love her house:p I'm used to her being behind me. She now earns far more than me, has a gorgeous house and can afford to give me amazing presents. I should feel happy for her, but I always used to be the big corporate one earning 5 figures and I'm struggling with the self employed, earning £100 a month, stay at home person.

Really glad someone mentioned the fire risk: my tumble drier went up in flames just before xmas and if I hadn't of been in the kitchen, we would have lost the kitchen and smoke damaged the whole house. I have since learnt that fire prevention officers always recommend you do not go to bed, or leave the house with the WM/TD/DW on and I know I now never will.

I'm gulity of this. it's the only way to get school stuff clean for morning sometimes. I will pay attention to this and make an effort to get my littlies in bed earlier so I can wash their clothes.

    :)

I like looking at the candles too. It gives me a really warm feeling to know that a forum can generate such a good showing.

I had a lovely time at Lakeside today with mumofjust2 I rushed home to get to the post before DH and what I was expecting didn't come so I have to do the same patrol tomorrow.

Saw the hand consulant tonight and he has re x-rayed me. I was quite shocked as the fractures are still really visible. DH asked him to bring the operation forward but he pointed out that the breaks are all to clearly visible. I feel that this is taking a very long time to return to normal. I can't believe it will be solid enough by April so don't be surprised if I type that my op is postponed in a few weeks time.

Time for bed now. See you all tomorrow for Diva's Purple Friday.

Bathrooms S/S this morning before 8.30am. I'll give them some polish tomorrow when I tackle DS3 and DD2's room aka the ROD
