    morning all :hello:

nearly got caught up yesterday and I am pleased with the result so far, I just hope I can stick with you all because I know its only this thread that has got my house looking reasonable, so thank you all. :T
shellysue now that you realise it works you will be more inclined to keep with it - but lots of us disappear and fall of the wagon - the important thing is that you know to come back and it will all sort itself out again without huge amounts effort - well done to your DH - it really does help if everybody is doing their bit,

    Morning all

Family enforced to tidy up all the mess they had made yesterday.

Kitchen hotspot down to a pile of recipe clipping which I'll look at later and I will meal plan (hate doing that)

Flying plan is to clean the bathroom at some point today.

We have outside jobs to do including restocking the empty wood store and DH plans to move the bubbling water thing and check/mend all our bikes.

Morning all. I got hardly anything done yesterday after being sidetracked by a certain auction website :o But I did tidy up the livingroom and got some laundry done.

Today X was supposed to be taking DD out but he's ill. He must be bad as he phoned me from the bus station so I have DD to entertain today. Fortunately I have the Indiana Jones films saved to the freeview so its a film then a HHC for DD and I'm going to iron for the whole 4 films in theory, but I'll be doing other jobs as well ;)

Just packing up to go home. My parents had a clear out after a leak before christmas and my mum found all my old evening dresses from my teens/uni (last time I had a glamorous social life :p). Purple taffeta skirt from 16 is too small round the waist, and the pink ball dress from 22 won't do up round the bust. BUT a black velvet dress and a blue velvet jacket from 18 do fit (dress will look better when I lose a bit more off my bottom!) so I'm going to keep them and see whether I wear them this year. Also a teal/turquoise sequinned cocktail dress... Not sure what to do with the stuff that doesn't fit. It's not as if these are the kind of things that have been worn much!

Better start packing, then I'm off for a walk in the damp before driving home.

It all relates very loosely back to an american site but really don't go there (yes I know you are typing it into google already - you'll regret it :D)

    Welcome and good luck.
I second Dusty's advice here - it is TRULY terrifying...

I know if we all followed the Flylady weekly plan we wouldn't need to do this but ....Is there a spring cleaning thread anywhere?
what do you want to know - I have a book;)

spring cleaning is outmoded now, really, what with the clean air act and modern appliances BUT I can tell you how they suggest you do it...and I will add in my own tips depending on what room (and the tips of others)

Far too much like hard work ... Mind you, if I could find someone local who would eBay for commission I suspect a lot less stuff would go on free cycle or to the charity shop. I just don't have the time to do it myself (or the kind of job that means I know I'll be able to get stuff posted when I need to). There's got to be a gap in the market for this kind of thing (I have some shoes that could go too, and probably a lot more stuff in preparation for moving).

Its also having a strange knock on effect, I haven't said a word to DH, but he fixed the gate that has been broken for a year, he is decluttering his stuff and doing trips to the dump, stuff I have asked about he has done without the usual delays and procrastination:T

Could he run a 'OH/DH training class'?

Do you have any trustworthy teens in the neighbourhood? My NN was going to e-bay things for me, but it's not happened so far. DS1 is always short of cash, so I'm going to ask her if she can train him up, if she'd prefer that (or ask her son if he'd like to do it instead).

Spring cleaning - I may not have totally cracked it..but Kim and Aggie's book gives comprehensive advice on how to start from scratch!

MrsChaos...my DD saw MCR last night in Manchester and cried so much...she is in love with Gerard Way...great gig sure your DS will love it too.

Thanks. They (DS1 and friend) had a great time and were still buzzing by the time we got back. Advantage with boys and this kind of music: not too many female stars to moon over. ;) Gerard Way is quite nice, though...

DS2 and I enjoyed Yogi Bear and had tea at pizza hut (his meal was free - don't know why :T) before going to Mc D's to stay warm. I also wanted a coffee without paying PH's prices, and DS2 got a fee toy. :money:

And I've had to make a stab at the numbers for ordering my home made croissants and cinnamon rolls.

Cinnamon rolls sound lovely. Do you make them? After watching a baking programme last week I vowed never to make puff pastry.
 at the amount of butter she put in! If I buy it I can at least pretend not to know.

I've been up since just after 9am - whatever happened to the last 3 hours? I'll go and find something to do while DS2 has a go at the first piece of holiday homework. I also need a bath, go to drop cards and chocs off for a friend (passed honours degree) , do a bit of food shopping and see MIL after reporting a fault on her phone line (she will get an appointment in the next 5 days ).

Have a good Sunday, everyone. x
