It won't cost you more than a couple of stamps

ok, this is all great, i just have one more question though, if i take it to the FOS and they reject it do I have to pay any more? Or is it still just the £45 that I would owe Admiral anyway?

Thank you so much for all your replies

No-one will increase what you owe. Worst outcome is you will have to pay, or will have paid the full insurance + cancellation fee by the time it's sorted.
Probably the best outcome would be you still have to pay/have paid the full insurance, but the £45 cancellation fee has been waived.

You can also scan any correspondence to the FOS into your PC and then send it to them via email; so it will not cost you anything.
  • I'm also having problems with Admiral, my policy was due to expire in January, I phoned them & said I didn't wish to continue my insurance with them.
I then started getting letter after letter asking for the money for another years insurance & that my credit card would be automatically charged.
I phoned them again & said I didn't want to renew with them & they wouldn't be able to take payment from my credit card as it had been cancelled months before as I no longer wanted it.

The operator said thats fine & apologised for the letters & the phone calls.

Then a few weeks later I get a letter with my renewal notice & certificate of insurance saying that I don't need to do anything as I will be automatically charged for the years policy, again I phoned them & stated that I had already informed them that I no longer wanted to renew my policy with them.

I have no just received a letter from them saying I owe £74.95 & that my policy has been cancelled & payment will again be automatically charged to my credit card.

The letter doesn't state why I owe this money & for what for!!!
