orange, do i have to keep paying?

hi does anybody else have this problem? i cancelled my contract with orange just before xmas, both my mobile and my internet access. the phone cancellation went through fine, but in jan got a bill for the dongle i cancelled,i paid that thinking i'd mixed up dates,and was told to bin the dongle and that was my last bill, lo and behold, another bill today,i called orange and was told they had no record of any cancellation and i was to pay, after a rather terse conversation with the lady she said as a goodwill gesture they would cancel the internet connection, but it was made clear that i had to prove that i'd cancelled and no mistake was made by them, although i've not used the dongle since before xmas, any ideas on what my rights are? any advice gratefully accepted.

    How did you cancel your contracts? Was it by phone or by letter? If it's by phone then it may be difficult for you to prove when you cancelled. I have been in a similar situation as you in the past and so now if I ever cancel anything I do it in writing and send it by signed for delivery. This enough for you to proove that you have decided to cancel. I usally call as well but then send a signed for letter to back me up.
