Santander seem to make life as difficult as possible -it's one reason why I would never consider banking with them even though they are the nearest "bank" to my front door.
Life happens-people lose cards, mislay them or simply leave the house without them. My time is precious -if a bank refused my passport as ID and told me I had to go home to get it -I'd be closing the account. Fortunately my bank (NatWest) live in the real world and not this strange dream life that Santander and some posters here live in where the customer is messed about for no sensible reason. Walk into bank-hand over passport -explain I've not got my card with me-answer questions about recent transactions-sign-take money -thank cashier and leave-Hardly rocket science is it ?
I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
I had a mini stroke a few years ago, following which I am now very forgetful. As a result I had to withdraw cash from the Co-Op without my card on several occasions, (as described above). Please don't assume that everyone is as "au fait" with their details as you.
