getmore4less,Redundancy not YET withdrawn(officially)I have been told new funding means redundancies unlikely, they are seeking legal advice as to my case as I was only person to have voluntary redundancy accepted
There is not well know option to counter notice this might ensure they have to pay you and should enhance a ET claim if it came to that.
get legal advice quickly and get in before they withdraw.
Here are a couple of references.

The employers can refuse counter notice and if they are now not intending to make you redundant you'll be extremely lucky for them to accept it - as presumably your new job offer is for a start date after your notice period ends, and therefore you have no 'reasonable' grounds to want to go early.
You'll just have to wait and see what they come up with, if they've not officially withdrawn the notice yet and are seeking legal advice they may be too slow to get it all done in time if they are a big employer, or they may decide it's not worth hanging on to someone who doesn't want to be there, you can hope...0
