No mention of bankruptcy on credit file or most of my debts?

Should I be pursuing a freedom of information request?!

I don't think that will be necessary?

Contact the CRF, and get their help.....as the Experian rep suggests......

Even simple clerical errors can mean information is not recorded in the right place..

CRF's will only send out that which is directly linked to the address and other info you [or I] gave them...they take no chances, apparently..don't want the wrong info in the wrong hands?

I have emailed them [and will do so to the other big E]....don't forget to quote your personal reference number...

Interestingly...and to confound the issue further, both the big E's hold different information about me.....obviously what the creditors have placed on my files....DCA's seem to not bother with both CRF's...is that right?

I know it's very annoying, all this chasing about,

question for Experian rep.....if further [credit] info comes to light following my contact...do I have to pay more to receive the additional info, if it has been entered either incorrectly by the creditors in the first place...or if it lies under an even older address, or one which differs in wording from those I presented when applying??
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • I meant the freedom of information request sarcastically. All I want is accurate info, held about me, which I am paying for the priviledge of receiving.

Do you still have post from creditors that were in your BR? (I know I had a shredding binge after discharge, but I still have some letters.)

Get one from each creditor that you know of, and look at how they record your address, and if they are spelled/formatted differently, see if the CRA can find any more info under those.

I know this is different for each person, but for me: some companies put my flat number on, some don't; some companies include the area in London I live, some don't (some even use the bordering area, but the post still gets to me). Maybe all these little discrepancies can result in information held about you not showing up on the reports you request.

  • I had a straight forward address, no flat position, no weird spellings, no house name. It was never a problem before I went bankrupt. Thanks though, I totally understand that might be an explanation, but all these things were on my experian and equifax reports before I went bankrupt. Plus all the debt that was repaid in full, and on time at my previous addresses still showing but as "settled" including 2 mortgages.
