My banking bonus and discussing it

Where I work we used to all get the same bonus. Then people complained, and then they made it performace related, but they cut the bonuspot by 70% so again everyone is not happy as the amount paid out.
You need to be completely sure what the bonus is related to.
For my workplace its a combination of productivity, sickness, behaviour, erros etc
Unless a group of you are willing to make it an issue with your surpervisor or line manager I'd just be happy with what I got.0 -

I am happy to forget about my bonus for good, although I am not going to say no to quite a bit money once a year, I certainly dont budget for it and wouldnt miss it if I did not get it. Its just total corruptness from management to not reward some people who have done the same as others, and its awful that some people get more than others for the same work.0 -

I did not know where to put my face when my friend said he only got half of what I got, we do exactly the same as the other. Me and him are going away for a weekend in april and I have paid for our hotel's as a bit of a gesture to ease my conscience lol. Wish the management could be questioned infront of the whole department to explain why IN SOME CASES people have got more than others when doing exactly the same.
Perhaps your friend got the same as or more than you, but when challenged made up a lower number so as not to upert you. It appears you are upset by the fact he got less than you- if he had more would you be more or less upset?0 -
You are the one crying more more money. Greedy little shallow man.hoffmeister wrote: »That is an extremely ignorant post!
What about all the other GOOD WORKERS who don't get bonusses and would love even a £50 bonus.
Greed, I hope to god when you gfet sacked your greed does NOT find you a job. Shallow excuse for a loyal man you are.0 -

Another ignorant post, do you actually read what I said? I could not get less about a bonus! It is a system which has divided my department by favouritism shown by management. This is a thread asking of my rights discussing bonus' so I can make things fairer for people possibly.
Just because you dont get a bonus, dont take it out on the rest of the world because you are jealous.0 -
how can you call hayton jealous when you're jealous of people getting a bigger bonus than you?
if you want a bigger bonus you need to get your tongue further up your boss's a$s, that's how it works.Martin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.0 -

I'm starting to find you a bit obnoxiously self righteous as this thread progresses. It seems to me that you've got no time for anyone who doesn't agree with you, which is your prerogative, but it's hardly a healthy attitude.
It also seems that you're still unwilling to accept that it's a possibility that the people deciding the bonus levels might know something you don't, or perceive the employee's respective values to the company differently to you.
Even if the management don't, you seem unwilling to accept that some people may have legitimately negotiated their compensation more successfully than others.
Accusations like those that you have made in this thread are serious and shouldn't be made without proof (and I don't mean proof by assertion).
If you're employer makes it a condition of employment or receipt of bonus that you don't discuss the compensation you receive then you shouldn't discuss it, end of story. They probably impose that because people tend to make assumptions about other people's work and the money they receive without the full facts and this causes tension in the workplace. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0
