Claire and everyone!
Just had the first couple over for the viewing and it was pretty much like any other we've done that our estate agent has arranged. I don't know what I was expecting but I was surprised when they turned out to be normal. Anyway they liked the house but they've got others to view and will get back to me? I take it this means, thanks but no thanks? Living in hope who knows they might just be keeping their cards close to their chests and will come back with an offer!
Claire can you send me the link to your house so we can have a look at what you've written? Have you had any interest yet?
I'll let you know how the others go tomorrow.0 -
you can get a free trial with square move https://www.squaremove.co.uk and then upgrade if need beThanks

I didn't sleep much last night as we had one couple who put an offer in. We've been on the market for over two years and now when we try and sell it ourself we get interest. Offer was £5,000 under what we want and they have something to sell but have a couple interested.
What happens now? If we say yes and they take ages to find a buyer this means we are waiting around?
Do we say yes but carry on doing other viewings? WE have a few more people who have asked to see it?
Not sure now what to do?0 -
We placed our house on the ourpropertymove.co.uk website. So far we have received 3 emails with people asking a few questions, but nobody has asked to view.
Sellamyhouse - I would be inclined to accept the offer given to you, but if anybody else shows a firm interest in the short-term don't turn them down - you never know they may offer more...although not too sure how that would work as your potential buyers may start sale proceedings (surveys etc.) which obviously involves a cost to them. I suppose in the Estate Agent world nothing is ever guaranteed until you exchange. Its a dog eat dog world...0 -
Yeah you're right there, we've had our house up with two agents for years and during that time we have sold it four times, but then they change their minds or find something else. So This time we're just waiting to see. They sent through some details of their solicitor, so I guess we wait for them to contact us with a formal letter?
Claire have you got your statistics from ourproperymove yet?
If not then don't look it's addictive!
They send through statistics of how many people visit the site each day, the percentage of people who look at you house, who contacts you etc...We had it in about the second week so you should get your soon..I'll try and send you the link.

I just read about Ourpropertymove in the newspaper, seems like a great idea.
But just done a search on Yahoo on the company and it landed me here as you have been posting about them. Me and my wife are selling our house in Dorchester with Ourpropertymove, we'll as of last night! We've listed our house:

This article also made our minds up:

Simon, looks like a really nice place. Should sell easily.0

Re ourpropertymove.co.uk
I have registered and advertised on this website, along with many other ‘free’ sites offering for-sale-by-owner services.
Not a sausage since August from anywhere, except ourpropertymove, whence magically three leads within days! Wow! Eagerly replied to each, waited with coffee pot at the ready for viewings. Zip. Zilch. Nowt. Damn all.
A cynical colleague then tells me that it’s an old estate agent trick to make you think they’re actually working for you. I’m inclined to believe them. Especially since an email from ourpropertymove indicated a hit rate of hundreds a DAY, but in the entire north west of England I was property number 6, out of a total of 6 listed on their site! Suspiciously, the email addresses of the ‘interested’ parties were all similar, and the physical addresses given were commonly-named streets with no town or area stated.
My other sites report hits of tens a week. (Yes, I know I probably need to adjust my pricing, but I’m not in any tearing great hurry; and, no, I haven’t hung out a for-sale board yet. Just ‘testing’?)
Logged on today to find that they (ourpropertymove) now want loadsa money for my advert.
Think I’ll look elsewhere. Good luck if it works for you.
I am beginning to regard the online selling business as no more or less fraught than the high street option – just a heck of a lot cheaper! I’ll persevere and let you know if I get a result.0 -
I think the estate agents in your area must be upto something! We've had three two people call us about our house and one guy email. I wouldn't wait around all day just on an email..
The idea of selling your property online is you arrange the viewings yourself. I would suggest requesting they call you for further info. I was on the phone for ages with one lady we have coming this weekend so at least I know she's legit!
Have you got a link to you property, maybe your advert isn't quite right?:beer:0 -
Anybody else here smell a rat over this thread?
Several 'happy customers' all going on and on about a (brand new) company and all of whom have only just joined MSE.... referring to an 'article' which turns out to be just a press release by the company in question...
As Lynz said at the beginning, this stinks of SPAM and I think we are being lead a merry dance.0
